i’m trying to find a story where draco has fragments of a time-tuner in his blood (?) and the story is set where there are constant jumps to the future, before he comes back. hermione ends up helping him out and they get together. draco initially gets really angry that his destiny is out of his control and is really cruel to hermione, but eventually comes around to it. i can’t remember the name but i remember really loving this fic :( please help !!!!

this is what my spreadsheets look like for kits. (mistkit is a canon cat, or he'd get a full entry like silverkit.) i add some descriptors onto kits as i write allegiances, but i track mates purely so i know what information to put into my litter generator.

sometimes i have a father who i don't mention, sometimes i just assume it's a loner or something. depends on the litter.

the reason i bring this up is because of Overhead. overhead is my enemy. i've got about...3k lines for shadowclan atm. it's split into three files because the markdown in-editor formatter breaks down at a certain point. it also slows down my files, makes it harder to find unique footnote codes for each kit, and makes searching for a particular cat harder.

so i face a dual faceted problem: for every new piece of information i track, i take up more space. but some information that's not strictly necessary, i do want to track.

so, what do? i don't know. i haven't found a good solution for lgbt+ kitties, much as i want there to be one. tracking mates and birth parents is hard, and something that is almost never worth it. while my family tree app allows two sets of birth parents, it tends to make things extremely hectic, so i only use it for very specific situations.

(the three, the litter dovewing and poppyfrost coparent, etc.)

i'm always mulling it over, and i don't have a great answer. even if i did have lgbt+ ships, i don't usually list mates out publicly, and so i'm not sure how much it would even come up. i try to only phrase things as "having kits together," with the intention of: you don't have to view them as being in a romantic relationship.

sometimes i do have explicit not-couples raising kits. pinesong and her siblings are raised by dovewing and poppyfrost, who are neither their birth parents nor in a relationship, and pinesong has kits with lionblaze, but he's explicitly a surrogate.

so -- if anyone has suggestions, i am open to taking them. but for the mean time, you know -- know that i don't list mates for a reason.

if you have opinions and feelings on these little stat block kitties, i fully support whatever you feel about them.

y'know like -- okay navigating the family tree to find two cats who are alive at the same time is harder than it appears, but if you want. idk. dawnpelt and ivypool to be cross-clan girlfriends, i support that.

i'm writing stuff up for y11 at the moment, which means i'm starting to face down "what comes next" for wbcd. do i repeat? do i start even earlier for kicks? do i keep going and just make up my own plots as i go? do i do the ten survivors or w/e thing and pick up from there? do i just stop? i'm not sure. (opinions on that also welcome.)

that said, at some point, i'm going to have to stop, evaluate my process, and make adjustments. there are things i'd like to tweak, systems i'd like to improve, etc., and i'm going to want to do that over a clean breaking point.

things i'm looking to improve include the deputy picking process, the general mate picking process (since i don't consider clan beauty standards, but i think doing so would lead to more distinct looking cats), how injuries are dealt with, and lgbt+ kitties.

most things, i have my own solutions for, but i'm stuck for the lgbt+ cats issue.

tl/dr: there aren't any official ones because i don't have a low-overhead way of tracking it, and also because i assume not every pair of cats that has kits together is mates, even if i don't always make that explicit. if anyone has suggestions, i'll happily consider them.
