High School Sailing week 3 or 4 ?
Last practice conditions were crazy, we had wind ranges from 25+ to just 5 knots. We had 90 degree oscillating shifts. It was a race day and every high school in Annapolis raced. I had an amazing day came in 4th overall out of 18 boats of some of the best high school sailors on the east coast. I tied score with our best skipper and beat all my other competition from my team. Yet I'm not going to be sent to any of our big regattas, I'm frustrated that on any other team I would be the A or B skipper but here I sometimes just feel like I'm a training boat to be practiced against. Hopefully I'll get sent to some of the team race regattas now that I've shown I can win against some of the best. If not hopefully college sailing will be better. Sorry this became a rant. Besides that we had so unusually high winds here in Annapolis it been really great sailing conditions. - Sail fast

High School Sailing! Week 1!
This week was the first week of HS sailing practice here in MD. We had a wild range of temps; Monday it was warm a relatively calm, Wednesday was mild as we waited for a big cold front to come in. With the could front on Thursday winds picked up to over 30 knots, JV teams were kept on shore. Friday the winds were still great and it was just slightly warmer. One thing my team need to at least do for next week is work on gear prep because this week was cold and next week will be colder. More layers on the extremities people. This weekend the regattas kick off! There is a total 3 regattas; 2 JV (one on sat and one on sun) and 1 Varsity Regatta (on sun). Over all it was a a great first week and we didn’t have to cut anyone from the teams after tryouts that’s always good.
