Would you ever consider doing a lineart and coloring tutorial, I’ve been in a huge slump lately and am so frustrated that I’m considering quitting art (your style is delicious >:7)
i totally get frustrating slumps when it comes to art its a very normal part of the process!! i have had several times where i go several months without drawing much or at all due to being frustrated. but it always comes back around, and now that i've gotten older those breaks shorten i feel the more you push yourself to stop doing things habitually and try to mimic certain things you may like by the artists you look up to and admire, the easier inspiration finds you! that being said please don't fully give up just because it's frustrating now, i always find a break to find some new inspiration or better yet evaluating your process as a whole to be open to more experimentation is always super beneficial, but sometimes that break is just necessary! half the point of making art is finding fun in the process of actually making it and focusing less on the outcome of it!
and thank you i appreciate it!! i made this image a while ago last time i was asked (about 2 years ago now my god), its a bit outdated in terms of style but the process is still pretty much the same! my usual go to is start with a sketch -> laying down flat color underneath -> cleanup + detailing on top, because its what's simplest and most fun to me. being loose, not using the undo button, and not really caring what it ends up looking like in the end always ends up being some of my favorite pieces personally in terms of how i color i wish i had some guidance there but it TRULY is just a fuck around and find out thing for me. i like the balance between muted and loud, vibrant colors so i tend to just put down some color combos and see if i like it. sorry i dont have a better explanation there!!! ive been asked it a few times and i still have no idea how to answer it really lol
sometimes i change it up though! like instead doing sketch -> flat colors on top with a rough brush -> cleanup + detailing on top, though there's not necessarily a huge difference as an outcome more just whatever seems more fun while im making it!
