Your Odds of Surviving a Saiyan Encounter
The Broly post got be thinking about where the many other Saiyans would fall on the scale so yeah, I've decided to make a detailed scale of the various danger levels of the Saiyans and what you can do to increase the likelihood of you coming out ok if it came down to it.
So ground rules on how this list works:
-We are judging the likihood of your survival for each given saiyan at any given time as if you poof in front of them at a randomized time in their canon existence. So for characters like Vegeta, his past is going to be taken into account.
-You are a normal as you are average human being. You aren't a saiyan, you aren't even a Mr Satan. Just a normal person that would be equivalent to a background character.
-For iterations with different canons like Broly and Bardock, these will be judged as separate characters
-Saiyan hybrids are included, but they must be at least half saiyan with one full saiyan parent, so Gohan, Goten, Trunks, and Bulla are included but not Pan, or any of their later descendents like Goku and Vegeta Junior or Beat.
-The list is in order of safest to most dangerous
General Survival Tips:
-DO NOT TRY FIGHT, ANTAGONIZE, OR THREATEN ANY OF THE SAIYANS: You WILL be at the very least maimed if not killed. If you think you have an ice cube's chance in hell beefing with a saiyan you are fucked
-Submission/reason is your friend. This is a factor that could potentially spare you against any Saiyan.
THE LIST
Bulla: the most dangerous thing about Bulla is that her dad is Vegeta, and she's protected by the most powerful beings in the universe. Fortunately by the time she's born all of said beings are at their chillest. Just be polite to her and you'll be totally fine. While she may have some latent power from being half saiyan, she doesn't seem to have any interest in fighting. Your chance of being harmed by her directly or indirectly is basically 0. Only harm she's indirectly caused was in GT when those creepy guys were hitting on her and Vegeta ripped the steering wheel out of their car. Considering those guys were old enough to drive and Bulla was no older than 12 at the time... that's a totally fair reaction in Vegeta's part. Again just be decent human and you'll be more than fine.
Cabba/Renso: Saiyans from a universe where the race fights to defend the weak. Renso is Cabba's mentor from universe 6. As Cabba seems to have acquired most of his manners and beliefs from Renso I have no good reason to try to say one is safer or more dangerous than the other. As members of the Sadala Defense force, they are both quite disciplined and polite. The idea of harming the innocent actively disgusts Cabba in particular. Only scenario either could possibly try to hurt you is if someone managed to convince them that you were dangerous. Though no doubt they'd stop the second they realizes you're harmless. You're in good hands with Cabba or Renso.
Caulifla: While technically a criminal, we have no good reason to believe that Caulifla would be a danger to us. Her gang seems to be that of Robinhood esq trouble makers. I mean Cabba insulted her to her face and she didn't do more than just yell at him. In fact, for your sake you best hope she's around if you encounter Kale, whom is a little further down the danger scale. God forbid Kale goes berserk on you, Caulifla is the only one who can save your butt.
Tarble: Vegeta's almost polar opposite little brother. Tarble kind and peaceful. So why is he number 4 then? Well you remember opening scene of 'Yo Son Goku and His Friends Return' when he and wife, Gure, arrive on Earth in their battle balls? They took out some buildings and probably killed some people. Granted it's extremely unlikely they intended to do that. They were probably still in stasis when this happened. The other thing we need to consider that hasn't been a factor before now, Tarble still has a tail. He can turn into an oozaru, and it's quite likely he might not know how to control himself in that state.
Gohan: Now we are fully in the dangers of Saiyans with tails territory. Gohan we know is sweet and peaceful throughout his whole life, but there's a catch in that as a child he has a tail and isnt aware of his oozaru form. He doesn't know how to prevent it and looses all conciousness upon transforming. Your best bet for making it out alive if you encounter oozaru Gohan is to get the hell away from him as fast as you can.
Shallot: Shallot while short tempered, has a lot in common with Cabba. Since Shallot is an ancient Saiyan, he hasn't been subjected to the same violent societal norms of the other universe 7 saiyans as he predates the saiyan civil war. Like Tarble, he has his tail, and we actually know for a fact he doesn't know he can transform into an oozaru. Tarble you could make a point that there's a very slight chance he can control the oozaru form or at least take measures to prevent it as he would be aware of it. Shallot doesnt know about it, therefore he's susceptible to transforming in the event of a full moon and not being able to control it. Shallots tail is never removed which is why he's a level of danger above Gohan.
Goten/Trunks: I'm putting the boys in the same slot for good reason. They're good boys don't get me wrong but if you're in situations with them while they are still kids, they indirectly cause a lot of trouble. Between Buu and Broly, they're superpowered, naive, and somewhat cocky little kids that occasionally cause some shit without meaning to. Especially when the two of them are together or god fobid fused into Gotenks.
Goku: Our Boy Goku! For most of his life Goku is friendly and actively works to protect humanity, but unfortunately there are a few caveats. If you encounter baby/toddler Goku, he's out for blood. You will be attacked by a feral infant. Goku for several points in his childhood has his tail and transforms into an oozaru and unlike Gohan, Shallot, or Tarble, he has a confirmed body count in this form. The last issue is that chaos follows Goku. Unfortunately for Goku and everyone around him a lot beings in the universe want him dead. Most of said beings will kill you as a little warmup, and not every person killed as collateral in these cases gets wished back with the dragon balls.
Giblet: Shallot's twin brother, who is notably more violent and vengeful. But here's the thing, you are defenseless human and Giblet, when corrupted, only attacks other Saiyans. Basically take the oozaru potential of Shallot, and make him vengeful enough that there's a small chance you might end up collateral in one of his attacks if your are in the wrong place at the wrong time. Giblet doesn't have any interest in hurting you, or really any inerest in you at all. You're more likely than not coming out of an encounter with Giblet unscathed.
Kale: she's the outlier of the potential danger of the universe 6 saiyans thanks to the fact she has the rare access to the legendary super saiyan transformation. The transformation tends to cloud judgement and make the user significantly more violent with reckless abandon. More often than not, Kale is shy and awkward. More than 99% of the time she's completely harmless to you. And the one perk that's unique to Kale's legendary state is that she can be talked down from it, specifically by Caulifla, thus my point when I talked about her farther up the list.
Future Trunks: Finding the exact spot to put future Trunks was quite hard actually. It's sad because the last thing Future Trunks wants to do is hurt you. Unfortunately misfortune follows this boy everywhere. You can't blame Future Trunks for the androids attacking, but Cell, Zamasu, and Goku Black are unfortunately direct results of Future Trunk's actions. He only wanted to help humanity in his time travel but by god he paid for it, and unfortunately if you are in his timeline, so will you.
Beets: Not to be confused with Beat, Goku's descendant from Dragonball Heroes (who is not on this list), Beets is a non-combatant, engineer who brought Paragus to planet Vampa. He was shortly killed thereafter when the crash landing destroyed their means of escape to conserve food (and possibly be food himself). Bro is not a fighter. He's still a saiyan and probably still could kill you with ease but if you came face to face with him he probably won't know that. The danger factor of Beets is that he's technically still a member of the saiyan military and frieza force who could sick combatants onto you.
Nion: A Saiyan woman who like Beets is non-combatant. She appears to be some kind of Saiyan physician (who has a Russian accent in the dub for some reason). Like Beets, Neon probably isn't gonna attack you herself, though she seems more intelligent than Beets and know she could kill you without getting her hands dirty if she so pleased.
Gine: Goku's mom! As we see her, Gine is non-combatant as she works in meat distribution. That said she was a member of the military along with Bardock at one point in her life. While she probably wouldn't bother attacking you if she's not on the job, she has no qualms about the genocidal nature of saiyans. She might have more sweet temperment than most, but she is willing to kill. Heaven forbid you encounter her before she left the combat force, she'd probably just kill you on the spot if she thinks it's part of the job. However, given her abnormally good nature, you may be able to reason enough with her to be spared.
Paragus (Super): See this version of Paragus could kill you, but why would he? For one thing if he thought you a threat, he's just sick Broly on you. But the biggest reason, he's an enemy to the Saiyan military, and was stranded on a deserted planet for decades. He knows nothing of what happened during that time and honestly he's just happy to see another living being that isn't associated with King Vegeta.
Broly (Super): Speaking of which, this version of Broly. Much like Kale, he's quite peaceful most of the time. Treat him respectfully and 9/10 he'll do the same. The problem is that because he had legendary power, his sanity can slip if he's under distress. If Broly goes berserk he'll attack anything that moves, but theres the key. Either do your best to get as far away from him as possible, or if that's not possible basically get on the ground and don't engage him in any way. This version will stop attacking what doesn't fight back.
Paragus (Z): Paragus in the Z movie isn't really a fighter or especially violent. Just like his super counterpart he's an enemy of saiyan society. He's got no business with you. The most dangerous thing about him is that where he goes, so does Broly, and Z Broly is a totally different animal than Super Broly. I wouldn't exactly want to hang around Paragus for any prolonged period of time for this reason.
(Prince) Vegeta: So going off our timeline rule of you appearing in front of Vegeta at any point in canoe, well he's our median. You have about a 50/50 shot of surviving a randomly generated encounter with Vegeta. Basically any time before he's killed by Frieza you are fucked. He's not even merciful toward his fellow saiyans. He will kill you with a smile on his face. You cannot reason with this man, his own teammates can't even do that. For the rest of Z literally until after the Buu saga, Vegeta is still a danger to be around. For most of that time he might kill you as collateral if you happen to be in the same space as him and his enemies. Though he isnt actively trying to kill you. But if he does unintentionally he's not gonna lose sleep over it. The obvious exception being that he kills civilians when Babbidi takes control of him in response to Goku refusing to fight him. The one saving grace there is that the people he killed get wished back shortly thereafter. It's not until Wrath of the Dragon that Vegeta actively goes out of his way to protect civilians. Vegeta during Super and GT is actively a protector of earth so, and unlike Goku actually has the sense to damage control. You are perfectly safe around him if you are lucky enough to meet him at this time. He might not be kind to you, but he wouldn't hurt you, in fact if you were in danger, he'd probably jump in to save you.
Bardock (Super): Now for Gine's other half (or at least one version of him). Let's not kid ourselves, this version of Bardock is still quite dangerous, even if some media illiterate fans think him acting merciful one time makes him "soft". Granola, Meuzli, and Monaito were just lucky that they met Bardock during a honeymoon phase that occurred after he met his newborn son. More likely than not you aren't gonna be that lucky. His job is to eliminate all lifeforms on a planet and he's gonna comply with that. He's only as high as he is because he's one of very few combatant saiyans in the frieza force the seems to have the capacity of a rare moment of mercy.
Leek: Bardock's (Super) comrade in arms. We don't actually know a whole lot about Leek, but based on what we do know it's probably safe to assume he's close to the same level of danger as Bardock and possibly moreso since he isnt shown to be merciful. You may think he should be above Bardock on this list because he's not as powerful as Bardock. Honestly when you are a regular human that kind of thing is completely irrelevant. You're just as dead regardless.
Raditz: as ruthless as Raditz is, there are few little things about him you can use as an out. Raditz is kind of unique in that he's more cautious than most other saiyans. There's a decent chance he might leave you alone, at least temporarily, if he's got better things to do and you don't do anything to piss him off. Unlike Nappa and Vegeta he's doesn't actually jump immediately to mass murder the second he lands on earth. He's kind of a crafty bastard but also has a bit of a cowardly side and inferiority complex. If you're just as crafty you might be able to skirt around getting attacked. I did think for a second about his tail as we know he hadn't trained it like his companions, but like unless you are in the company of someone like Piccolo who can off him if he's incapacitated, it's actually not a great idea. You can't hold his tail forever, you'll have to let go at some point and when you do there'll be absolute hell to pay. Even if you use some toll like a vice to hold his tail while you escape, you can kiss your ass and any chance you had to reason with him goodbye if he gets free.
Nappa: honestly the worst thing about Nappa as far as your chances of surviving him go are that he's Vegeta's underling. Nappa has had ideas of making peace and letting potential victims go. Problem is when Vegeta inevitably suggests otherwise he's not gonna argue. If catch you Nappa alone and say the right things, he might just let you go.
Bardock (Z) and his crew: Yeah I'm lumping them all together since it's well established that Bardock, Toma, Fasha, Borgos, and Shugesh all seem to see very eye to eye as a team. These guys are pretty damn ruthless. Any mercy or compassion is toward their fellow saiyans and some members of the frieza force. There's an extremely miniscule chance that if you encounter one of these guys alone and make a clever enough case they might let you go, but don't keep your hopes too high.
Brocco and Pumpkin, aka Shorty and Scarface: yeah remember those guys from the pendulum room? Yeah good fucking luck. Unless you're buggs bunny levels of crafty they're gonna toy with you before they kill you.
King Vegeta: Bro will attack his own subjects. Massive egomaniac. Best case scenario you're to much of a weakling for him to dirty his hands with you.
Broly (Z): This Broly far more trigger happy than Super Broly, and when he goes Berserk you are simply as good as dead. He'll destroy you and the planet you're standing on. The thing that saves him from being the most dangerous saiyan is that he is passive in his base form which he is in most of the time, and is not likely to attack you if he maintains this form for your whole encounter.
Cumber: So you gotta be pretty dangerous be given the honor of being known as "THE Evil Saiyan". If most saiyans are grizzly bears, Cumber's a polar bear. You encounter Cumber, you're as good as dead. Buuuut, even though Cumber is basically in a berserker state like 90% of the time, he might not actually be truly evil. He's an ancient saiyan existing under a corrupted aura, similar to, but significantly stronger than the one that corrupted Giblet. What makes him so dangerous is that he looses control so easily and can also cause others around him to do the same. If you are lucky you'll encounter him in his rare moments of clarity in which he won't actually attack you because he's only intends to target those with god powers. While Shallot and Giblet are ancient Saiyans who harbor the god powers, Cumber is of the rival clan that harnesses evil aura. These ancient clans are sworn enemies at this time, and continue to be until the civil war destroys planet Sadala. Unfortunately as it's name implies the evil aura is incredibly destructive and difficult to control, which is what makes an evil aura using saiyan like Cumber so much more dangerous than a god power using saiyan like Shallot and Giblet.
Turles: Turles may not have a power anywhere near comparable to the likes of Cumber or Broly, but unlike the berserkers, Turles is just straight up evil for the fun of it. He's fully aware of what he's doing and wants nothing more than to make you suffer by his hand. You have to be pretty out there to decide the frieza force and saiyan armies are too soft for your liking. You got no chance reasoning with or surrendering to Turles.
