O' Mr Pauly 😍
Nivin Pauly - Sakhavu - Teaser
my favorite thing about the recent spate of communist-themed malayalam films is the inevitable non-malayali sanghi who shows up in the comments to say some dumb shit and then gets cursed out by malayalis of all faiths. these films are so clearly a reaction against what is happening in the rest of india that they are bound to draw the bigots but <3 <3 <3 for a secular kerala, communist-ruled or not.
i’m so glad nimboli’s next film sakhavu has actual grown women acting in it - aishwarya rajesh, aparna gopinath - instead of random teenagers whose dads he owes a professional favour.
you’re not catching nazriya’s lightning in a bottle talent with anu emmanuel. if she was so bad that you had to cut the character, shouldn’t you have recast the role like malar in premam?
anyway, if malayalis want to a watch a grown man romance teenagers, they can watch a dileep film.
Wednesday Malayalam: Sakhavu, for May Day

I finally watched it! Ages after it came out. For those of you who like Communists/Communism, this is a great movie for gently explaining the importance of collective action. For those of you who like “cuddly” type men (you know who you are!), this is a great movie for giving you nice sofa like Nivin striding around with his big arms and trunk.

#Sakhavu. (Spoiler free opinion) Sakhavu leaves a message by taking us through its two main lead characters. The story of the film is just the same old thing but the film's purpose is to be an eye-opener and an inspiring story. The pacing of the film may test our patience likewise take an anticipated turn. By the by, Sakhavu has got its heart at the perfect place. The film will move you and can be an eye-opener for some. Yet at the same time, the film could have been a lot better. Conclusion: Sakhavu is decent one-time watch. #Nivin #NivinPauly #AishwaryaRajesh #Sreenivasan #AparnaGopinath #SidharthaSiva #ad
