A post that was worth the wait!
I am ecstatic to announce my (semi-recent-happened-in-March) promotion at Saks to Senior Designer! ✨
When I interviewed at Saks in mid-2018, I was between jobs and had sold everything I owned as my boyfriend, Andrew, and I were planning to move to California once he finished law school. As I left my interview, though, I felt butterflies and knew I'd jump at the opportunity to join the creative team. So, when I was offered the job as a designer, I trusted my instinct and accepted. Although this was a tough decision which meant doing long distance for what turned out to be a full year, I know I made the right choice because I continue to look forward to solving design problems Mon-Fri, and Andrew and I are under the same roof again. :)
My time at Saks has been a rollercoaster, to say the least. I started out in catalogs on the photo team and brought them with me when I transitioned to the print promotion design team. Later, as a result of a company shift, the promotion team merged and grew, encompassing both print and digital, split by categories of business. Soon after, I began taking the creative lead on shoe and handbag projects. Currently, I am spearheading the creative for Saks' loyalty program and jewelry department creating content across print and digital channels.
I owe heaps of gratitude to my incredible manager, Angel Han, who has been paramount to my growth as a designer. Constantly giving me the space (and trust!) to be creative and make mistakes, while persistently pushing me to my highest potential. The design team is a producing powerhouse and I am also so thankful for my fellow team members who make it a collaborative and joyful work environment that I truly cherish.
I am excited and honored to continue bringing my full self to my work and to make my mark as a creative at this iconic brand. 🌈
