as far as i know it’s sakumiyo week, so here is something for my baby-tachi to me sakuma will always be a naive chonk boi

Summary: Being stuck at work with someone on Christmas might be a good deed sometimes.

I’m your Joker Game Secret Santa. I hope you had wonderful Christmas and a happy New Year.

Enjoy this drabble.  

Working for the holidays was the worst.

Sakuma knew this very well.

But being stuck at work with a complete stranger was even more vexing.

‘Here’s the paper you asked.’ The maroon-haired man went over to him and placed the paper he was holding on his desk.

‘Thank you…’

‘It’s Miyoshi.’  The man reminded him.

‘Right.’

He thought about how he ended up in this situation˙ his boss wanted to g on a ski trip and forcing him to give up his vacation.

He wondered why Miyoshi was stuck at work on Christmas day.

‘Is there something wrong?’

He suddenly realised he had be staring at the other man.

Sakuma signed.

‘No. I was just thinking about something.’

The other man gave him a curious look.

‘And what might that be?’

‘I was simply thinking, how come you’re stuck here on work on Christmas.’

Miyoshi looked at him surprised.

‘I simply asked for it.’

‘You what?’

‘Holidays don’t really have any meaning for me, so I asked to work today.’

Sakuma was confused.

‘But don’t you have family to spend the holidays with?’

‘Not any that I’m in good terms with.’

‘Any friends?’

‘They’re all away for vacation.’ The other man said. ‘I’m used to spend Christmas like this. They don’t have a special meaning for me.’

Sakuma started feeling empathy for the man. No one should spend the Holidays alone.

‘Would you like to have dinner with me and my friends after this?’

That gained him another surprised look.

‘Well, if it’s your treat.’ The man said.

Sakuma quietly smiled to himself.

He is glad another person won’t be alone for Christmas.
