“This is what you made me dress up for?”

With arms crossed in an almost unimpressed manner, Kurogane scanned the entrance of the maze before him as he held back a sigh between his pointed teeth; one of the furry ears atop his head flicking in slight annoyance. He had never experienced this “Halloween” before, and couldn’t really understand dressing up-- but Sakura was excited for it, practically begging him to come along with her to experience all the activities laid out on the island.

If he had known that he would have ended up changing himself, not just in clothing but in form, he would have been a little less inclined to join her. But it was too late for that now, he guessed.

“We’ll go get the prize, but then I’m gettin’ myself back to normal,” as Sakura began to excitedly rush towards the start, Kurogane followed along diligently; watching her surroundings out of habit. “Y’should be able to see just fine in there, but stick close to me anyway.” All this effort just for some candy.. kids sure were stange.

“..... oi.”

“I said I would sit with you, not let you put sand all over my legs,” with arms bent behind his head, resting against the trunk of a palm tree, Kurogane’s crimson eyes peer down at Sakura as she digs sand and shapes it all around him. It almost looked like she was trying to make a house of some sort, or.. a fish tail, maybe? Through his growing (hidden) irritation, the ninja wondered if she was having a hard time making up her mind of what exactly she wanted to do.

Why he had to be the centre of it all was unknown to him, though.

“The hell’re you doing, anyway?”

Although he had spent the last couple of days searching through other kingdoms for those he knew, Watanuki seemed to finally be a bit of a standstill; only able to meet with one other person after the event that changed the entirety of Spirale. He was grateful he was even allowed that; to see that despite their changes, those he held dear were still alright, and living through this place as well as they could.. however, that still didn’t seem to be quite enough for the shop keeper. Even if there wasn’t much that he could do here, given his own appearance and circumstance, he wanted the reassurance that they had not been hurt in anyway; that they were not alone, or scared in a place where they couldn’t find anyone else.

He had decided to yet again leave his new home (as well as work place) to continue traversing through Xalphina, though stopped before he reached the doors. Just as it was back in the store of his own world, Watanuki could sense the presence of anyone intending to enter his doors; but instead of being an unknown feeling, this one.. was familiar. One that he had a connection with, no matter how many times they had met before; and as soon as she twisted the handle to come inside, he stopped in his movements, finally realizing who it was that came to see him.

“Sakura-chan.. ?”

Though surprise took over his expression at first, a warm, soft smile easily replaced it; an overwhelming relief washing over him. She had been changed, just like he had, of course; but she was here, so close to him after everything that had happened. 

“.. it seems you found me before I could find you,” Watanuki spoke softly, the quietest of chuckles soon following his words. “I’m so very glad to see you again.”

[he recognizes that figure instantly. it’s Sakura, the gorgeous girl he met on his first day here, but she doesn’t seem to be very festive, at least not yet. she’s not even got a crown on, and that just won’t do. but first things first.]

[reaching up a little to tap his fingers against her arm, briefly-- he’s five foot six, perfectly normal for his age and ethnicity, but she makes him feel tiny-- not that it’s a bad thing. dimpling up at her.] 

Ne, ne, Oogami-san, when I first came you were telling me how awful and chaotic it was here, but times like this make you forget it, don’t they?

[laughing up at you, eyes brilliantly sparkling, from under a mess of curls and snarled roses in his crown.]
