My daughter @fishflake_ loves to go on “night drives” and I often but not always accompany her (one of her playlist songs is @guster ‘s “You’re my satellite/You’re riding with me tonight” so I’m her satellite). Last night she said “Want to go see a lake I found [on a previous night drive]? Two hours each way so it’s okay if we don’t.” “I’m just sitting here, you’re in charge,” I said, meaning, ‘Yeah, sure.’ We got there, after a lot of state highway-at-midnight drivin’, near @jimgaffigan ‘s hometown of Huntington, and I had no idea what the deal was with the #salamonielake #salamoniedam and as we drove over it, guard rails on both sides and who-knows-how-far-down-to-the-water in the dark, approaching this Oz Witch’s Castle structure that appeared to be as tall as a skyscraper only it went down, down, down into the dark—well, I got a little freaked out. Adventure! We drove around some more, stopped to look at stars and you could make out the #milkyway with so much lake and so little light, and I could NOT make my daughter see the Cassiopeia “W” and eventually gave up, and we drove toward a boat launch despite a sign that said (at 1:00 a.m. when everything is a little iffy already) “Road Ends In Water.” It was quite the Night Drive. #nightdrive #adventure #huntingtonindiana #salamonie #salamoniereservoir #witchescastle #oheeoheeoh #alittlefreakedout #cassiopeia (at Salamonie Dam) https://www.instagram.com/p/B0bsOnfg_Y0/?igshid=2xfs690dvdwg
