I love your stories. They are amazing and flow well. I wish I could write like you. But as it is, I've been stuck in a writing rut for over a year now. Any tips to help? If not, then omfg SSLL is just too precious and reading it makes my day!!!
*Aww, thank you! <3 I’m so glad you’re enjoying it!
My advice to get out of the rut is to try doing prompts. Thinking of situations from the perspective of “what would this character do in this situation?” can help get you in the right mindset. Plus, the prompts typically don’t have a plot to follow, so you’re just writing a little drabble.
Some people like to plot everything out. They make outlines and break down chapters by what’s going to happen in each one to keep things flowing on-track. I’m not one of those people. I’m someone that starts each chapter with a vague idea of what’s going to happen and then lets the characters take the wheel.
Like, the last chapter of SSLL with the family dinner? Sans was supposed to tell the ex off. Instead, he ended up being chill about it, and the dad came out of the house after him. I didn’t anticipate that. Heck, even the Halloween party chapter when the Lady ran into an old acquaintance wasn’t planned.
To me, writing a fic is like roleplaying with yourself. And with that in mind, I’d definitely recommend roleplaying to help get you out of the rut! Sometimes, working a story out with someone else can really help. It always helps me when I’ve lost motivation. =]

To mysterious angel: Hi! Who are you? How did you come into being?!
The angel looks at you, his features revealed. The large goat answers rather calmly, his voice soft and comforting. “Why, the same way any other angel came into being, I died.”The smaller angel tugs on the largers clothes, urging him to hurry. Now that the lighting is better, it can be seen that he too is a goat, though a much younger one. He is wearing a green and yellow striped shirt.
