The majority of my life was spent wallowing in self doubt and fear. I wanted to be accepted and loved by people who'd "seem" to have it better than I did. Trouble was, I "acted" like they were better than me -and in kind- they returned my sentiment by treating me like they were indeed better than me. Black girls seem to represent something mysterious, repulsive, even frightful for many people. So loving we be, yet abused by everyone, and for some of us, even our own mothers looked down on us with regret for we were not born in the way they secretly prayed for us to be. But with all of that my darlings, the fear is the power within you. The fear is the dark magic you wear on your skin. It is this thing of : "you can see me but I can't see all of you!". What are you hiding under your skin? We are merely consecrated by the sun, ca consequence of nature, and if we would connect with the earth, every tree within the distance of your hand's touch would defend and protect you.
