Kopikon Presenters: Sally Caves
Kopikon is less than three months away, so let's meet the speakers! I'll present them in the order they'll be presenting on September 23rd at Georgetown University. First up: Sally Caves (a.k.a. Sarah Higley).
Sally's been conlanging since she was a little girl, and she's worked on the same language the entire time: Teonaht. She was one of the original members of the Conlang-L, and helped to create the very first conlang relay with Irina Rempt. She's a professor of English at the University of Rochester where she wrote a book on the Linguae Ignotae of Hildegard von Bingen, the first language creator.
Fans of Star Trek may also not know that it was she who created the character Reginald Barclay in an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation she wrote "Hollow Pursuits".
