Morgue Files Character's Expanded Entry 4: Sally Hatfield
I haven't made one of these in a while and honestly even if the fandom is kind of dead right now, I'm not giving up on this AU Sally and Aiden have some of the biggest canon divulgence in this entire concept both of their stories have some massive changes (Mostly because episode 4 is kind of my least favorite in the series and I feel Aiden and Sally could have been more.) Regardless let's get on to this. Also, somethings might not make much sense considering a lot of Emily's universes has yet to be explained but I promise good things come to those who wait.
The Aftermath:
Sally's death caused the police force to issue a man hunt for Adien believing he was soulely responsible for the death of her and many others however the case would go cold in under a month due to Slenderman hiding Aiden away (In this AU he was spared more on him in another post.)
Sally herself would go to the afterlife however due to the trauma she wouldn't reunite with her family right away instead the angel's would set Sally into her own pocket dimension a paradise for her to relive her life and be reborn in a way once she returns to heaven she'll forget the life she once lived and would be happily reunited with her family unfortunately things wouldn't play out the way the angels planed.
The Wayward Rescuers:
Sally would see Aiden in her paradise and sadly the trauma would come rushing back to her forcing her into a time loop doomed to be kidnapped and trapped into the old mine on hills groove. She tried to escape the loop not going out at night, staying close to her grandma at all times but nothing worked Aiden always found her and would capture her to make matters worse her doppelganger was stalking her as well Sally's safe haven was compromised as well, she needed a hero and several would come to her rescue.
The day is January 1st, 2025, so far three morgue files were recovered with the last tape episode 3 being reviewed on October 28th a few days after Liu joined the team properly however despite the break Emily was ready to tackle more mysteries surrounding the cursed town and a case she'd find when Millie Adams herself (As an angel for the record.) And Macy Graywinder (Yes Harmony and Horror will get its own dedicated arc on Emily's channel in this AU Macy is human again and an angel.) As I was saying Millie and Macy come to S.P.I.E Headquarters asking for aid on saving Sally who Emily has recently started looking into the cold case.
The S.P.I.E team would be split into two groups Dakota, Millie, Macy, and Emily would go into Sally's purgatory while Jeff, Toby, and Liu would join up with the Master Detectives who were currently employed with S.P.I.E (For those who don't know characters come from Master Detective Archives: Raincode. Great game 10 out of 10 recommend.) Yuma Kokohead, Shinigami, and Kurumi Wendy and later Halara Nightmare who was investigating Forest Lawn as a personal pet project. And yes, the entire B plot is a reference to Master Detective Raincode itself mystery labyrinth included phantom Aiden will be so cool once I draw him.
Back to the main plot though not long after Emily and the others make their way to Sally the group is split up Macy and Dakota notice Aiden dragging someone away and Emily and Millie see Sally heading towards the graveyard Emily and Millie save Sally from Aiden (Emily smacked him with a headstone and wow that must have hurt.) Meanwhile Dakota and Macy find another Sally inside the mine after healing her and making their mistake Aiden quickly catches up to the girl's turning into a mysterious version of himself and attacks them after reuniting with Emily and Millie upon seeing the second Sally, it quickly reviles itself to be the doppelganger meaning the gang is being perused by two monsters.
The locations the gang explore while trying to escape are locations Sally saw in her dream a circus tent, the forest with the blood red sky, and later on a demented hospital where Sally becomes trapped and cornered however during the plot Sally bonds with Dakota who pretty much becomes a sister or mother to her Dakota even gave Sally her Dreameater Heart binder knowing it's light will protect her and it did in her darkest moment where it seemed the doppelganger and Aiden were about to close in her heart called out to its power giving Dakota and the group a way to her, however in this moment it's revealed that the Aiden they've been perused by wasn't a manifestation of Sally's trauma but a alternant (You know from the Mandela Catalogue Yes a lot of VHS horror series to be cannon in Emily's universe.) But not just any alternant Emily's Alternant who swore revenge on her after being killed a year prior the alternant was trapped in hell for months before sneaking its way into Sally's safe heaven and teamed up with the doppelganger to merge the two together and use it to escape back into the real world.
A massive battle would ensue to ensure the Emily's Alternate wouldn't escape back to the real world but upon seeing the danger and how much the group was risking for her Sally would make the ultimate sacrifice using Dakota's keyblade (Yes Dakota has one I'll make a lore post on that some other time.) And strikes herself in the heart think of what happened in KH1 where Sora stuck himself to save Kairi basically Sally does the same thing, but she didn't turn into a Heartless due to being an angel but more so her heart, body, and mind would be greatly damaged and would be in a coma for a few days after the group escaped leaving Emily's alternant behind and thanks to the exploration of the mystery labyrinth the B team were able to salve the case and lead to the evaporation of Sally's Doppelganger.
Later on, they'd listen to Sally's morgue file and finally put a 20-year cold case to rest but what became of Sally herself?
Her Awakening:
Due to using Dakota's keyblade not only did this lead to Sally having the ability to wield one (She uses the Pixie Petel it was the shortest keyblade for a girl her age to wild that I was able to find.) But also, her and Dakota's memories merged in a way seeing friends and events from Dakota's time in the KH universe Sally's summons include Dream Eaters and her Doppelganger who she made peace with. The two girls would merge inside her heart and helped revive her body however that didn't mean Sally's story would end here in fact another chapter for her was beginning due to the damage to her heart and soul Sally couldn't move on to the afterlife quite yet so she joins the team for a short while maybe a month it's a good few original stories before she's able to return home but not only that in one of these adventures the gang are captured by a group of individuals who called themselves "The Cult of The Slender Man." Sally is forced to go solo to save her friends and, in the process, awakens her power to wild her keyblade.
But who was responsible for this cult? The capture of Jeffrey, Emily, Toby, Dakota, and Liu? Why does the leader have it out for them and why a cult in the Slandermans name when he has all but given up due to the failure of his movie?
