I wanna hold 'em like they do in Texas – Ada Monroe/Sally Swanger
A/N: Day 28 for @yeehawgust
Ada would never admit to caring that Sally had lost everything. It was easier to stay ‘Dan’ when she didn’t speak, so she took to using different tactics across the county, making use of gambling dens to stock money, walking away every time and home to Sally. Texas Hold’Em had become popular but if Ada was honest, being a preacher’s daughter had always kept her away from learning. She had sat down with Ruby a few times, learnt the rules and easy tricks to be sure she wins, then she took to making money. Ruby is still a dear friend, always will be, but her love for her husband keeps them from becoming more than that. Sally has no such entanglement and Ada has to admit she finds peace in the silent woman’s arms.
