Felicity breathes in. Breathes out. She is going to do this. If it ends badly, she’s sure he wouldn’t tell anyone and embarrass her. There is no need to be nervous. No need at all. She has to calm down, or she won’t be able to talk to him at all.

Felicity has done many things that could cause nervousness. Three speeches. Punched by a dwarf. Two burning apartments. A few dates. Why is it standing in front of Barrett’s apartment that makes her so nervous?!

She’s had a crush on him for a... while. Well. A long while. Anyway, she had given him pink flowers on Harmony Day and this is really the next step.

There’s no point in standing here panicking. She knocks on the door, trembling and waits.

When the door opens, she blurts out, “Will you go on a date with me?” and stares at the ground and hopes to heaven it’s Barrett that opened the door.

Harmony Day - Barrett and Elise

Elise had beat him to the punch and gifted him a bouquet before he had even left the apartment, but he had intended to give her flowers from the start as well. He couldn’t give her roses now though - he refused to do the same as her, strictly on principle - despite thinking that they suited her. He had finally decided on tulips, a mixture of yellow and purple tied together with a yellow ribbon. He knocked on her apartment door, hoping she was home now it was later in the day. If not, he would leave them for her anyway.

Elise was surprised by the knock at the door, not expecting any company today. She set Bijou on the couch, the cat giving an irritated meow at her as she’d been asleep on her lap, and then was up and heading to the door.

Pulling open the door, she found herself even more surprised, but the surprise melted into a small smile when she saw the flowers. Ah, it hadn’t just been her sending flowers to him. It was nice to see him actually. 

“Bonjour, Barrett! Happy Harmony Day. I trust you received my flowers?” she asked as she glanced down at the flowers he had, feeling happy that he’d thought of her as well. “Would you like to come in for a bit, or do you have other people to visit, mon amie?”
