The Automotive Exhibition Mondial de l'auto Returns After 2 Years

This weekend the Mondial de l'auto, World’s top car show, drew to a close. Absent for 2 years because of Covid-19, the show returned to Paris Porte de Versailles this year, but many manufacturers were absent. On the other hand, the public showed up in droves, and the show attracted more than 180,000 visitors in four days.

Only four known manufacturers were present: DS, Peugeot, and the Renault group with Dacia and Alpine. The French manufacturers presented their new models like the 408, the e208 for Peugeot or the austral;  and the new Mégane etech for Renault,

Most of the stands were foreign brands of cars, often electric, such as the recent Vietnamese manufacturer Vinfast, which presented its brand new range. Or the little-known NamX HUV, an SUV that has the particularity of running on hydrogen !

Hydrogen was a big theme at the show where the public was able to discover the first hydrogen car from the French manufacturer Hopium. It will arrive on the roads at the beginning of 2026. But its price is very high, more than 120,000 euros for this large and luxurious sedan. Cheaper solutions exist such as the small company Lormauto which offers for rent an electric Twingo 1 for 100 euros per month.

Special stands included one from the gendarmerie which showed the new 3008 hybrid and the new Alpine the famous car of the BRI; (Brigade Rapide d’intervention). Netflix had also made the trip to present the 2 main cars of their new film "Lost Bullet 2"

Known cars, there were many! Like the real star of this show, the 1000tiplat with which the youtube channel Vilebrequin came with several of their other famous cars, including the Citroën saxo, the radio-controlled BMW, or the very exclusive Pagani huayra a luxurious racing car

So it's this Saturday, November 14, 2022, that the Mondial de l'Auto closed its doors after experiencing some problems. Indeed, environmental activists came to the Ferrari stand and damaged many cars. The stand was able to open again the next day partially. The four-day show is now over for 2022. See you next year for the 2023 edition.
