My hometown has like two restaurants, and one of them is a Mexican place. Pretty standard, americanized fare. But it's such a comfort to me. When my husband and I moved like 12 hours away we both really missed that comfort (we grew up in the same place). Luckily, there IS a restaurant close to us that has the same brand of american-mexican food. The only thing is their salsa. It's better than anywhere else I've gone. It's spicy, it's chunky, and it isn't drowning with cilantro or just like juice or a ton of raw onion. Anyway, their salsa is a constant craving in our house. We go to our beloved El Dorado (I know, it's perfect) at least three times a month, if not more. The service is abysmal; but their margs are strong and cheap, and that salsa is another fucking level.
