what really irks me about the whole steve staying back with peggy thing is that this plot-point has been explored before in other marvel media, and it’s always been emphasized as a BAD IDEA! for example, there’s an episode of avengers assemble in season four where 1940s peggy and howard come into the modern era and meet steve and tony. at the end of the episode, steve offers to go back to the past to be with peggy. and you know what she says? no!!!!!!! because she KNOWS that steve is needed in the modern era and has established a life for himself. she KNOWS that their love can unfortunately never be. she KNOWS that this is a BAD IDEA!!!! you can’t tell me that mcu peggy would be okay with steve abandoning everything he’s established and become just to be with her. she wouldn’t do that!
