1) From what you’ve written for KnB, what is your favorite piece of writing?
First it would have to be Rewind, Pause, Play (Aomine/Kagami). The fic is packed full of emotion and that’s the one thing I worry most as a writer, “Are the feelings I’m trying to convey here strong enough to affect the readers the way I want them to?“ and it seems like it’s a fandom fave, so it makes me very proud to have written something that’s received so well.
Second would have to be my Imayoshi/Hanamiya fic, Broken. It’s the fic I wrote to challenge myself and push the limits of my comfort zone in terms of writing. I’m not a fluffy rainbows and unicorns type of person when it comes to the genres I’d prefer to write, so this was the first time I wrote absolute filth – and for my bestie, who is a big influence on my writing. I love him and he loves this fic and I’m really pleased with how it turned out in terms of keeping them in character and having just the right scene flow.
Last is the fic I’m working on now, an Aomine/Kise novel titled Picture Perfect. I went on hiatus for a long time because I was having a lot of doubts with my writing and i was getting really tired of the same old romace/smut fics. It just seemed like I was writing the same thing over and over again and no matter for what pairing or what fandom, everything sounded dull and repetitious. But I love writing so much that I didn’t want to just stop so I thought I’d try my hand at writing a genre I actually wanted to, which was horror/gore, despite me thinking that no one in the fandom would want to read it. I wasn’t going to write to please other people, I just wanted to write for me. And after I published the first two chapters I got such an amazing response back from the fandom that this has easily become one of my most favourite fics, and probably my most enjoyable to write. It’s even inspired me to do a yakuza au spinoff based of Imayoshi and Hanamiya’s characters as well as inspired fiction written by other people, which just honestly blows my mind. It was an amazing warm welcome back to the world of writing and I appreciate all the love I get from every one of my fans.

4) Pet peeves in fanfiction?
I know people see characters differently but if they’re so far off the rails that I literally cannot enjoy the story, ooc characters are a huge pet peeve.
Point of views; please stick to one character’s pov per scene because it gets too confusing to understand after
For the love of god, please stay way from the typical Yaoi/BL doujinshi type mentalities and tropes. I don’t want to read conversations in the middle of smut like:
“N-no! Don’t look at me! B-baka”
“Ooh but it looks like you’re feeling it. You’re already hard.”
“Uwah! You have to take responsibility!”
the ‘hey I forced you to have sex with me against your will but because i am such a charming seme, you – my little shy and tsundere uke – will now fall in love with me once I show you I care by being overly possessive and jealous’. scenario. Please. Just be creative, okay?
5) I can’t think of eleven questions, so this is the last one. What do you like best about your writing? If you had to say something. Anything.
I’m too critical of my own work to like anything actually, but I like gifting people fics that make them happy. I like making people happy with my writing.
