You know what I hate? When they try to make the Jedi the quintessential good guys like...do you hate interesting storytelling? Do you honestly believe that "Pure Good vs Pure Evil" is more interesting storytelling than "Space Wizard Pissing Contest Where Two Factions Equally Make Things Worse For Everyone"?? Are you allergic to nuance or something

Came across this out in the wild, and believe it or not, "both sides are bad" is not objectively interesting storytelling, it's just what YOU find interesting. And yeah, some of us like to have fun in a universe where there is clearly defined good and bad baked into the core of the worldbuilding. I happen to think that's far more interesting and nuanced than overdone "both sides are bad" bs.

Edgy "everyone is bad actually" does not "interesting storytelling" or "nuance" make. "Everyone is equally making the world worse" is not "nuanced," it's just depressing.

If yall want dark & gritty & everything is awful, maybe go seek out media with those themes instead of acting like everyone who likes the story we have are idiots.

You relate to the villain, which is a reminder that anyone from any background has the potential to do good or to do bad, and that evil is not an inherent trait but rather someone just like you making a series of decisions to put what they want above everything else.

Yoda's teachings are all straight up just HOW THE FORCE WORKS.

If you hate the idea of space monks so bad just ignore them and make up your own Force-using culture. There's nothing wrong with the culture the Jedi had. It just doesn't appeal to you personally.

Given the rates at which queer and neurodivergent children are mistreated and othered by their families and communities IRL, it's amazing to me that tumblr-using star wars fans are so utterly convinced that the vast majority of force-sensitive children--children who are connected to the magic space energy that a good chunk of the galaxy doesn't even believe exists, who behave in strange ways and hear and see things other people don't--are coming from Loving Supportive Families and Communities who would accept them and provide for all their space-magic-related needs, and that the community of space wizards who are also connected to the magic space energy are the bad guys for adopting force-sensitive children into a community of people who experience the world the way those children do.

"The Jedi were wrong about the Force" has to be one of the stupidest arguments in Star Wars fandom. The Jedi teachings are literally what George Lucas (guy who invented how the Force works) said about the Force.

Are you really going to try and tell me that the creator of the fake space energy was wrong about how the fake space energy works?

Like there's no grey area here, the Jedi are objectively correct about the Force.

"Neurodivergent Jedi would be so confused by vague 'feel the force' stuff" buddy... buddy the Force isn't some distant spiritual metaphorical concept, it is a thing Force-sensitive people can Literally Feel.

If anything, stuff like "feel the Force" is going to be super validating, like when two people with visual snow bond over the fact that HEY YOU CAN SEE THE STATIC TOO? Or two people with similar synesthesia bond over the colors that letters have.

I imagine being around people who CAN'T feel the Force has got to be mega frustrating, similar to when an autistic person can hear an Annoying High Pitched Sound that no one else can hear and no one else believes is actually there.

I think one of the main problems with Star Wars fandom is Westerners being completely unwilling to consider the fact that not everything makes sense through a present-day Western lens and sometimes you have to think about things from the context of a culture other than your own in order to understand the intended meaning.
