Hello Salty Pirates Pals!
It has been a whirlwind of a month and I am Le Tired even though I just had a week off. Something about the drive back on Saturday seemed to really sap my strength. I'm hoping to ease back into the week. It depends on what horrors my inbox holds.
But I'm really, really proud of what I accomplished this month!
Wardrobe Changeover and (Un)Decorate--This is how I always start off NaClYoHo, putting away Halloween, and pulling out the last of my warm weather things.--Done!
Mini Closet Reorg--I did a more significant reorg of my closet last year, so this year the focus was on dealing with the hanger situation, finding a way to store my linens out of sight, and I got rid of the exercise machine!--Done!
Car Things--took my car in for maintenance, cleaned the smudged window, switched out my CDs--Done!
Clean Windows--used the supplies I'd been accumulating to finally clean the large windows in my living area; the windows came out blessedly streak free; my space is lighter and brighter; and now the supplies are stored away--Done!
Office/Guest Room--This was my biggest project and the one intended to make the biggest improvement to my space. When I moved in several years ago, this room wasn't going to be an office, but then the pandemic hit, and I suddenly had to make it into one, and then that became a more permanent situation. It also became a catch-all space--especially the closet--for random stuff, a lot of which I didn't need any more. I cleaned out the closet, cleaned out the junk drawer, got rid of the futon mattress, put up a new, very useful felt board, recycled a bunch of old papers, and now have a pile of hard drives and storage devices to shred--company is scheduled for later this month--Done!
Fridge/Freezer/Pantry Cleanout--This time of year I usually try to eat up most of what is currently in my larder (or get rid of it if it's expired or not something I'll use). I made really good progress on this goal! There are still a few things I intend to use up, but the most significant things are gone now.--Ongoing!
I also cleaned out one of my kitchen storage cubes and went through my tupperware collections, purging a few things, and reorganizing the rest. I'd been thinking about doing something like that, but a tupperware avalanche this morning made me actually buckle down and do it. There's probably more I need to do related to clearing out the rest of the cubes and more aggressively getting rid of pieces I don't use. But it's good enough for now.
And now I end the month the same way I began it--(un)decorating. The Fall things have been tucked away and I've started putting out Christmas things.
I hope the rest of you feel proud what you were able to accomplish this month and can enjoy being in a happier space as we close out the year.
I look forward to sailing with you again in 2026!
