I agree with most of this except that it seems like youre implying that straight males are inherently terrible. I thought the tweet was a misguided work but Jay Briscoe is supposed to be a babyface.

here's the thing, when you're in a majority group (like straight white dudes are), crying "but we're not all like that" just pisses everyone else off. okay, great, not all of you are homophobic, or sexist, or racist, or whatever. doesn't change the fact that some ARE. doesn't change the fact that everyone who isn't a straight white dude has to put up with abuse, sometimes on a daily basis, from straight white dudes. so, and this isn't directed specifically at you because I have nothing against you as a person, but maybe instead of saying "we're not all like that" and making it all about straight white dude problems, maybe you take a look at the dudes who ARE out there acting like homophobic, sexist, racist dicks and talk to them about their behaviour instead of telling the people who have to deal with that behaviour that "we're not all like that". we know you're not all like that. we're just fucking sick of the ones who are.
