There's a big thing right now regarding tumblr and its notification system. I send asks, IMs to ppl I never talk to, ppl I talk to from time to time, and ppl I talk to the whole time, and they don't get notified. Once, an ask showed up out of nowhere in my inbox, and turned out, it's been there for days, but never got notified. And same with IMs I receive, I don't get notifs, then when I go send a msg to that person, I see their old IM. It's annoying, cause it makes you wonder if ppl are ignorin

YESSS it’s the worst. a real fun one is... sometimes, I never see the asks on mobile until I go through my blog and into the ask box. then, bam! you have asks. but did you tell me about it? no. because that would be nice. or it’ll show me ONE and I go in and there’s like TWO others from who knows how long ago. it really makes me look like an asshole. AND someone send me a message the other day asking if I got their ask for my challenge and I had not. So... like... it’s ruining fun things. :(

Well @salvachester I see you’ve been doing some work, and I advise if you get too far down that recap rabbit hole, go on and re-locate to the terlit, ‘cause I went on a real tear as the eps went by, never even finished recapping the season. I figured since I live-blogged the finale I could peace out early. My nerves couldn’t take it. That season broke me so badly I still haven’t watched, like, the first five (I think?) of 13, because I wanted to avoid any residual decomp wafting in from that fetid corpse. 😖😖😖😖 But I’ve digressed. What do you mean by "the whole retconning thing about an archangel blade"? The archangel blade (although visually different) was already introduced in Hammer of the Gods.

To me the introduction of the “archangel blade” as an archaic sort of uber-weapon is a retcon in the sense that imo it seems to be purely introduced as a means to explain away Gabriel’s return and why he is alive. Of course it remains to be seen if the show will use it like that further down the line, so until that is cleared up to me the archangel blade is a mere and cheap prop to undo a death that they can’t possibly make logical in any way imo.

So the archangel blade - the one Gabriel carried and the one Lucifer killed him with is and so far has of course been introduced as an archangel’s blade simply because it belonged to Gabriel. What I am taking issues with is the lazy writing here, because introducing this “new” archangel blade as a sort of “first blade”-relic type of weapon kind of (at least to me) implies that neither of the archangels knew that their own swords wouldn’t actually be able to kill them or the other - which of course could have been a thing if God never wanted his sons to actually fight and kill one another but instead had hoped they’d come to their senses, but to me does not make sense in any way shape or form with how SPN has treated angel blades and set up the lore around archangels, etc. from S4 and S5.

Maybe I should have made that a bit clearer in my post, but yes, my peeve with this whole thing doesn’t lie with the archangel blade that they introduced in 13x13 in itself, but rather with how it seems to be a quick fix solution for something that is more complex and would have deserved more attention to detail. Again, I’m holding off on final judgement here until the show has explained Gabriel’s return and how he is alive (Is he from another universe? If so how did he get there? Has Crowley had him locked up all along or is Aesmodeous suddenly the extreme smartass all mighty character after not being part of the story for like 13 seasons? Or is Gabriel there due to time travel? Is it Gabriel at all?), but so far to me this just looks like another cheap retcon. Hope this makes it a bit clearer.
