Alex doesn’t normally cry — not because he thinks it’s ‘unmanly’ or anything, but he just never has anything to cry about. He knows he has had a good life and still lives a good one compared to some of the other tenants and he’s always grateful because of that.
Yet here he is, crying quietly in his shop out of anger and frustration. He had been working on painting and designing a specific board for weeks and he was nearly done — when a clumsy kid came in and knocked paint over it, basically ruining it.
Oh yes, Alex had struggled not to scream.
The words from the other male startle him; he hadn’t even heard anyone enter his shop. A small, wry smile curls his lips and he wipes at his eyes. The blond turns away slightly, giving a small shrug in response.
