Mike Mosley Productions

Continuing our series on 90’s Bay Area producers, next up is the great Mike Mosley who, along with co-producer Sam Bostic in the early years, was responsible for many bangers both worldwide and local. Mike described the production process in an interview a few years back: he would get things started with a blueprint beat and then Sam, a seasoned musician who played with Circuitry in the mid 80’s, would come in and replay what Mike laid down and sometimes add extras. Mosley is credited with 100’s of songs to date and this comp zeroes in on the mid-90′s classic era, perhaps at the expense of a few later gems.

On March 14th 1995, both E-40 & 2Pac albums released classic albums and Mr. Mosley had some of the tightest productions on those records. I’ve showcased those songs first along with another sinister track that year c/o The Click. Much of the remainder of this compilation focuses on local underground classic records from around the time same 1993-1997 time period. And speaking of 2Pac, Mike mentioned a while back that he produced an unreleased 2 Pac song featuring Marvaless & C-Bo that has since been lost in the shuffle.
