Cuz is the creative product of Sam Dook of The Go! Team. A new musical project featuring Mike Watt of the Minutemen and The Stooges background on bass. Cuz recently played at The Arts Club, Liverpool. The storytelling essence of the songs created a magical atmosphere which gradually slipped into heavy bass and guitar riffs bringing up the energy in the room. The drummer used different props including Tibetan singing bowls and pebbles to accent and highlight points in the stories. Each band member narrated different songs taking the audience from the shores of Japan to a magical kingdom and onto a dark night on the streets of L.A. Like with any of Mike Watt’s projects, his inspiring bass lines bring a deep and heavy element to the music, whilst Sam Dook’s pop rock background brought an upbeat yet lighter ingredient in creating Cuz. Whilst both Watt and Dook’s previous projects attract the audience, tonight they are captivated with Cuz.
