MAFIA: THE OLD COUNTRY SPOILERS

I just need to jot down my thoughts because wow

(I have not finished the game no spoilers)

Luca, who begs Enzo, (who he sees as a surrogate son), to get out of the life. While his actual son winds up joining the Mafia. Showing Luca would not have wanted this for Sam.

Luca's death completely changes Sam's fear in that one mission where he gets shot. (In the same place too the stomach) He probably thinks he's going to end up like his old man. Adding a whole new layer to the fear he feels.

Tommy's "We've been through worse than this," And Sam responding "Sure we have," knowing full well his father didn't survive this.

Luca, who was clearly disillusioned with the Mafia, begging Enzo to get out. Vs Sam, who was loyal to the end to the Mafia. And I wonder if Sam didn't think he was doing what his dad would've wanted standing by Salieri. If he thought that's what his father would've done. Really creating this tragedy because...Luca would have wanted Sam to get out.

Sam who never really stood a chance NOT being in the Mafia. He was raised by a Mafioso, literally surrounded by Mafia members since he was a child who encouraged him to be interested. A Don was his brother's godfather. The small hint Sam wasn't even interested as a child, to who he becomes as an adult?

Sick. This game made me sick about Sam Trapani again and I never expected it.

MAFIA CUPS FINAL!

I also made pins! I've posted about them before, here and here. The Sam pin says “Try Dissociating” and it’s based off a pin I have and also the line Paulie says about Sam being able to block it all out. The Paulie pin says “Partial to Paulie, 2020” and it’s based off the 1952-1953 presidential campaign pins that Eisenhower made saying “I Like Ike”. It’s a ref to the tweet that the Mafia Twitter made in 2020 asking who’d you like to have more as your buddy. Obviously I’d pick Paulie. The colors and little lighting bolts are pulled straight off the Hangar13 logo!!!

First time drawing Sam, I based this off his trading card and a button I thrifted. I love how this turned out so much I might make them into stickers. :]!! This is also based off of Paulie saying that Sam can shut his feelings off? Idk. I don’t exactly remember ,:[!

Would anyone be interested in a sticker like this?

I crossed over the two things (not including Newsies) I’ve watched this week after an interesting dream I had. No, @flinttflakes was not there to stop me. I had so much fun drawing this and stopped several times to cackle-cry. This was all spurred on by drafting out an animatic to “One Short Day” for young Paulie and Sam.

As it says in the drawing, as someone who’s only watched the play and the movie, I think that Fiyero fits Paulie the best with Sam as Glinda, Tommy as Elphaba, and Salieri as the Wizard. Those are very loose threads I’m connecting on a half-asleep brain but I think they make sense.

(I don’t actually hate Sam I was joking angrily because I can draw him but not PAULIE MY BELOVED AGHHH)
