Music Notes || Neil and Sam
Neil was a little nervous.
That wasn't uncommon when he showed his work to anyone, but Sam had shown he could be a bit insufferable or cruel on quite a few occasions, so there was a little more to be worried about here. He at least knew he'd get brutal honesty, which would likely be helpful, but that didn't mean he was going to be very happy if he was told it was all terrible.
He'd spent most of the night making adjustments to it, and part of the day too. It felt all right, but he definitely needed a second opinion. He'd stared at it all too long to be able to do much with it by himself now. He didn't know the extent of Sam's musical abilities, but maybe he could offer something helpful. He hoped that's what he'd get out of it. It was really one of the only reasons he hadn't backed out of all this.
He'd sent Sam a text telling him to let him know when he arrived and he'd buzz him in, and in the meantime he made a few more adjustments to the opening number while he waited.
He had to put himself out there. He had to.
