who am i? alright, let’s do this.
samantha starcatcher (call me anything but sam and you’ll have a battle on your hands), student at the academy - or at least i would be, if it weren’t for the puppet master. thanks to that bitch, i got stuck doing errands all across the island to save my one shot at becoming a real wizard. along with my sickass monster team, of course.
my team consists of blizzhared, ice caller, shardic, brumble, painter sprite, scovile, jellish, gatorain, river neek, and cloud neek.
i’ve built up quite the collection during my travels, and now, i think i could forgo the academy entirely. after all, i’ve made my own education, haven’t i? at least, it was made for me…
i’m happy to keep my reputation to duelist and bounty hunter. they got their hero, now i’ve got my life. and a tumblr account. hooboy.
(note: this is a roleplay account for prodigy, owned by @mari-the-tortured-poet. if you know me from my other blog, then shh! this is a semi-secret)
personally i think that we shouldn’t do jackshit about it. but no one else is gonna do it, so it’s us??? again?
Hey, Have you heard?
There’s a rumour that one of the teachers is a vampire! Don’t know if it’s true.. Though I mean, Vampires in a world of magic?
“I hadn’t heard.” Sam hums for a second. “It’d mean some new dynamics in the magic system, but maybe the world could use some shaking up. After the Dragons, of course.”
Hello, Sam.
Yes, it is odd.. I wonder if the dragons are held by magic, or by duty. As for if we’ve met.. I don’t think so. Perhaps we will.
~ Erebus
Sam hummed quietly to herself before tucking the letter in her back pocket. This whole business felt odd. Not the letter - being a bounty hunter, she received mysterious correspondences all the time. The Isle. The familiarity of it all…
A letter falls from the letterbox..
Hello there, Sam. I couldn’t help but notice your research.. Have you learned much of the isles?
~ Erebus
Sam picked up the letter, eyebrows shooting up. “This guy again.” She sat down in the grass, pulling a small pencil out of her inventory to scrawl on the back of it.
To Erebus, whoever you are. They’re changing by the day. Sometimes I think I’ve been through these trials before. The dragons want strength to defeat the Puppet Master, but I wonder why they don’t take on the task themselves. I’m grateful for your correspondence, I have to admit. The dragons aren’t much for conversation. Your drawing was nice enough. Have we met? S.S.
“The isle is different than I remember - than I heard about. Something feels off and it’s not just the Puppet Master this time…the whole place is charged with unfamiliar energy.” Sam shuddered. “It feels like a condemnation of some kind. And how far will it go before the knowledge we want is given to us?” Her shoulders slumped for a moment before she straightened. It wasn’t often she found herself saying things even half so meaningful, but the Dragon Isle wasn’t the only placed charged with unfamiliar energy. Talking was the least harmful way to get it out of her system.
A gift, Courtesy of Erebus.
A few names are crossed out nearby, some seeming like initials, but Erebus is the only readable name.
Sam picked up the piece of paper, frowning. “Erebus . . . someone at the Academy, maybe?” But she didn’t know anyone at the Academy . . . nevertheless, it was quite the portrait. She smiled to herself and tucked the piece of paper into a pocket in her armor.
