“So...” Sam said, as they finally arrived at the destination they’d spent the last three hours hiking towards. “What do you think?” She gazed her eyes over the sparkling pool of water which had remained almost untouched since the last time she saw it. Someone had tied a rope swing to the tree overhanging, but other than that, it was the same crystal clear water. “Was it worth it?”
Sam had been in the music business for a long time, and over time running a label with her husband, she’d learned how to tell if someone had what it takes to make it. She’d been sitting in the dimly lit restaurant for a while, scouting out the open mic night without trying to make herself known. After watching Malik perform, however, she’d decided that it wouldn’t hurt to have a chat to him. “Hey,” she announced as she walked over. “I really liked your set up there. Do you have another gig soon?”
Sam looked over at her boyfriend as her niece announced that the small present in her hands was from Danny. Sam was admittedly a bit puzzled about why her three year old niece was delivering it, rather than Danny, but she tried to ignore it. She crouched down to her the toddler’s eye level, thanking her for the present and then standing back up. Her best guess was that he had bought her some earrings or some sort of prank ring, probably after being encouraged by her brothers. The present wasn’t exactly big enough to hold anything else. “Should I be worried?” she joked as she shook the box in her hand, hesitating before she opened anything, especially in front of her mother’s video camera.
“No, by all means, make another joke about how short I am. It was so funny the first time, and I’m sure I’ll laugh even harder if you say it again.” Sam pouted as she leaned back against Danny’s sofa. There was nothing she hated more than when she had to ask him to reach for something for her. It always took him far too long to give up on the height jokes.

Who? Sam Evans (@daresamevans-archived) & Blaine Anderson (@darethewarblerblaine)
Where? Dalton Academy (Blaine’s Dormitory)
What? After Sam & Blaine have a chat about superheroes and first kisses, they decide to meet up for a little one on one time.
Sam usually made friends pretty easily, but for some reason life in Lima hadn’t bee as generous to him as it had been in the past. Perhaps it was him, he was older now, awkward and tall, always blushing and bumbling over his words, making himself sound simple and maybe even downright dumb, or perhaps Lima wasn’t as open to change and new faces as the other towns he’d lived in. Whatever the reason he’d been in Lima almost a month and didn’t have any real friends yet. That was usual for Sam, so when he and Blaine seemed to strike up a fast friendship bonding over - of all things - kissing and superheroes, he jumped at the chance to get out of the house and spend time outside of school with someone his age.
Of course the subject matter and intent behind the meet up had him a bit nervous but he was still excited as he made his way over to Blaine’s, sitting in his beat up truck for a few moment and talking himself into getting out of it and making his way to Blaine’s room. He wasn’t sure how long he’d sat there before he finally let out a frustrated sigh and climbed out, his keys and phone getting shoved into his pockets before he slammed the door and walked across the campus as instructed, giving the door a tentative knock before his hands joined his keys and phones in his pockets.
