which parts of the sandman comics were adapted into the tv show?

Hiya anon! So the tv show is currently ten episodes long and when we compare it to the comics, the entirety of the first volume-Preludes and Nocturnes is adapted (it's like 8 chapters long). This happens within episodes 1-6. Volume two- The Doll's House is also adapted to the tv show, with the exception of one chapter called "tales in the sand" which is a relatively self contained story but I have a feeling we'll see it later. But yeah we see pretty much all of The Doll's House in episodes 6-10; the order is a little jumbled with one of the chapters but I'd say it works really well (episode 6). *I'm saying chapters because issues/volumes can get confusing*

Also There are a few hints and scenes related to the prequel, overture which are included which is pretty cool :)

If we're speaking in broad terms the tv show is a very, very faithful adaptation of the comics like 90% of what's in the comics is in the show and the 10% that is excluded are relatively small things, more violent moments and a couple of the more obscure DC characters. I'd also say a little bit more of the style and flavor text is left out but it doesn't take away from the story- Honestly it's probably my favorite book/comic to adaptation to date.

Re: Not being able to go on the HDM tag - now you know how we feel! I've had to resort to watching US shows illegally because some shows (even popular shows like Brooklyn Nine Nine) are literally shown YEARS LATER in the UK. Feel free to gripe about it, we can all empathise! (And also definitely DO NOT go in the tag if you want to be spoiler-free!)

That’s totally crazy and really bs for international audiences! you would think media distributors and companies would prefer making their shows and series accessible to a wider audience at, you know, the same time. Its like the advertisement is being done for them and I’m pretty sure it would reduce instances of  ☠️ in a lot of cases. I mean personally the main reason why I  ☠️  is either a lack of accessibility or the company fucking sucks. either way im pretty sure most consumers just want to get the chance to talk with one another about the product but that gets pretty hard when your avoiding spoilers.

that being said I think i may have been spoiled for something for the series and im trying not to think about it  😔. Planning on actually reading the books when I get the time though!

So I noticed you are a Bloodline but I thought you were a New Age. Why is that?

Probably because I don’t go around calling my LN friends by the full name that most Bloodlines do and I actually treat New Ages with respect?  That might have something to do with it.

Saw your tag. No, judaism does not have confessionals, at least not in the sense of "going up to a religous leader and telling them about things you did wrong". While it's obviously recognized as a good thing to own up and apologize to people you wronged, otherwise it's between you and G*d. However, jewish belief and practice is varied, and this is just my experience!

I'm pretty sure most of cr's fanbase is from the second campaign; most new fans didn't even bother watching the first campaign because the episodes are like 3-5 hours long and there's over 100 episodes. I think it's so popular now because people were talking about how good the first campaign was, so everybody started watching with the second campaign. (I'm one of the cr fans who watched from like early on in the first campaign and quit during the second because it's just not good)

(same anon as before) basically their first campaign got them the huge following and it was like actually pretty good (though there are some criticisms I have of it, but overall it is enjoyable) and then the following got even bigger with new fans coming in to watch the second campaign (I genuinely don't understand people who can even stand watching it anymore because after they had the hiatus it went downhill and it wasn't even that great beforehand I had just watched it for so long so. yeah.)

Oooh I see! I think I actually tried to get into (what I think was the first campaign (?)) myself but I was having a hard time due to the 3-5 hour length + episode thing, so it never really clicked for me. I didn’t actually know there was a new season or anything but that definitely makes sense. I think the twitter thread from that reblog mentioned the change in character alignment that took place as one of the issues which would make sense to me but I have no idea or understanding of the plot lmao, it’s always sort of been a fandom in my peripherals. Thanks for giving me the up-and-up, its cool to hear about the general reception to games/podcasts like that and some of the commentary taking place!
