Samantha Sanders was born in 1994 in Grantville, Pennsylvania. She is a visual artist, working in various medias such as gouache, pastel and oil paint. Her mixed media artworks explore the spectacle of the garden - be it above or below the earth, these artworks are meant to intensify our visual and spiritual understanding of cultivated spaces. Sanders attended Pennsylvania College of Art and Design, where she graduated in 2016 with a BFA in Fine Arts. She currently attends the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, where she will attain her MFA in Fine Arts in May 2018. She has exhibited work throughout central Pennsylvania, such as Sunshine Art and Design Gallery, The Kimmel Center, FMC Tower and the Stella Elkins Gallery at Temple University. She is a Visiting Artist Coordinator at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, where she hosts dynamic artists that lecture and give critiques to the student body. She recently completed an 18’x50’ collaborative ceiling mural for Sprocket Mural Works in Harrisburg, PA. After graduation, Sanders plans to stay in central-Pennsylvania and teach at a college level, while pursing a career as an exhibiting artist.
