Saw the phenomenal theatre production of #thegirlonthetrain last week. A play which was brilliant with incredible performances especially by #samanthawomack. But the trip out, was not without it’s problems and reminded me once why going out when living with a #chronicillness can induce anxiety and fear. A trip to the theatre which should have been fun, and a night to be carefree was instead one which the #symptoms of #chronicillness made their presence felt in a major way. Looking at me, I seem like everyone else enjoying a night out to enjoy something I have been looking forward to for ages. What people could not see however is the #dizziness and #vertigo that made everything look off balance, or even everything spinning around. People could not see the excruciating agony I was in, or the terrible sickness I was feeling for the duration of the play. Or the severe and unrelenting trembling happening inside my legs, so bad that I wondered how I was ever going to mange to make it to the car after the end. Unfortunately the only evidence that there was anything wrong at all was when my legs gave out when exiting the theatre, one that hurt so much and increasing the pain already felt and also left me extremely embarrassed and humiliated; ruining my already fragile confidence. Just another example of how unpredictable life with a chronic illness and a neurological disorder can be. And it’s hard to know whether to be proud that I went and got through the entire play without leaving despite the severity of the symptoms and how bad I was suffering or be upset and disappointed at yet another trip out ruined by chronic illness. #spoonie #chronicpain #chroniclife #spoonielife #chronicillnesswarrior #chronicpainwarrior #FND #functionalneurologicaldisorder #newtheatrecardiff https://www.instagram.com/p/B5BpD0SAcgd/?igshid=me4x0jej7o96
