An aerial view of the Great Mosque of Samarra' adjacent to one of Iraq's most known historical structures; Al Malwiya, which was later built as the Minaret for the mosque. The mosque was completed in during the reign of the Abbasid caliph Al Mutawakkil.
It is unclear whether the plane here seems to be burned from the front, or it might be just shadowing that have been damaged during the horrible preservation and conservation situations. Nevertheless, the plane could be part of the British colonialist forces?
