It was true, she was exhausted. No matter how much she protested sleep she was determined to finish fixing this one piece of machinery that was still on the fritz. But at some point, she must have started to nod off in the chair because she hardly noticed Cal slipping his arms underneath her. She let out a soft groan as he lifted her, but she didn’t fight him on it. “I wasn’t done yet.” She mumbled into his shoulder. But being warm and close to him like this only made her more tired. “It’s still... making... the noise.”
“oh, this oughta be good.” the transport’s getting robbed -- which is a great opportunity for an escape from the troopers currently escorting her to what amounts to a cobbled together holding cell. maybe whoever this thieving smuggler is won’t shy away from stealing a prisoner too.
