Let’s learn a bit about Liniker e os Caramelows
Liniker e os Caramelows is a Brazilian soul band, created in 2015 in Araraquara. Liniker, seen above, is the band’s singer and an absolutely stunning trans woman with the voice of an angel.
Liniker de Barros Ferreira Campos is not even twenty-five, and already, with the band’s popularity, has become an active spokesperson for queer people’s rights in Brazil.
In 2015, Liniker e os Caramelows filmed a performance of one of their first songs, Zero; the video went viral on YouTube, accruing 1.5 million views in the first week.
Since then, they have toured within Brazil and internationally. They describe their music as New Black Brazilian Music or "funzy", explicitly noting Black music's deep influence throughout Latin America. Their album, Goela Abaixo, was nominated for Best Portuguese Language Rock or Alternative Album at the 2019 Latin Grammy Awards.
Liniker has notably been seen in the popular Brazilian Netflix show “3%”, in season 2, giving an incredible rendition of “Preciso me Encontrar”.
If you were looking to stan a TWOC queen and her amazing music, go ahead. A lot of her and the Caramelows’s music in on YouTube and apps. I’m leaving you with a single she sang for COLORS in december 2019.
