“The Spider, The Witch, The Captain, The Soldier, and the God” Chapter Four: “Faulty Wiring, Visitors, and Plans”
“This place isn’t bad,” Bucky admitted as he stood on a chair and fixed the wiring for the lamp in the kitchen, Sam standing under him and making sure he didn’t fall, “Dunno how the hell this broke. Can’t you use your magic or something?”
Wanda didn’t answer immediately, staring intently as Bucky stood in a tight t-shirt and watching as his muscles flexed while messing around with the wiring. She technically could, if she wanted to. Right now? She would rather Bucky fix it…if only to prolong the wonderful sight before her.
“Um, yeah…well, no.” Wanda lied, a spoon in her mouth and the cereal turning warm in her other hand, “I would need to know exactly what to fix in order to fix it myself and I’ve never really been good at that sort of stuff…”
“It’s just a couple of wires.” Bucky said.
Sam looked at it from his position on the ground, “That you’re wiring wrong. Man, move.” Sam said, Bucky giving him an incredulous look, “You gotta do it this way. Move, I’ll show you.”
Sam got on the chair while Bucky stepped down, the two bickering back and forth as Sam shucked off his jacket and threw it on Bucky’s head. Wanda blushed as she noticed that Sam got a little more muscular since the last time they had seen one another, now watching him this time.
Peter came in, dressed and feeling a bit better. He chuckled and shook his head, “They’re still working on that?” He asked, crossing his arms, “I could probably fix that.”
“You could. But you’re not going to.” Wanda said quietly.
Peter gave her a look, “Why not? I’m not a little kid, I know how to fix things.”
“Oh, I have no doubt about that, Peter.” Wanda said with a smile, putting her hand in front of her mouth to block Bucky and Sam from seeing what she was about to say, “Truth be told; I’ve been messing with the wires because I like watching them work on it.”
Peter furrowed his brows in confusion as he looked between Wanda and Sam and Bucky. He was about to question it until Wanda made a comment about Sam’s muscles looking a bit bigger and wondering aloud if he had been working out while she played with the spoon. He gave an “ah” as he finally understood, chuckling and shaking his head at her.
Just as Sam was about to figure it out and fix it, he noted the flicker of red magic and watched as the wires switched colors. He pressed his lips into a thin line before looking at Wanda, “I think something is messing with this,” He said, Wanda’s blush deepening, “Or someone…”
“Me?” Wanda asked innocently as she pointed to herself, but then she gave a little wave of dismissal, “No…I wouldn’t do that. Why would I do that?”
Bucky and Sam exchanged looks before Bucky turned to Wanda, “If we’re going to be messing around with your faulty wiring…can we at least get something to eat? Please?”
”Absolutely!” Wanda exclaimed, getting right to work on fixing up something.
