SAM CLAFLIN photographed by Manfred Baumann (2024)
at the beginning of my career—and I’m not by any means complaining—I had these incredible opportunities to work on these huge budget productions, I felt that in those types of movies there was so much riding on whether or not I did a good job, and it terrified me to a point where I [wanted] to do more independent movies, to prove that there were more strings to my bow…I wanted to play people that weren’t me, that I could hide behind, to show everyone that I was a real actor, daisy jones & the six was the introduction to a different side of me. I’ve now realized I connect with [roles] where I lean into my experiences and my emotions and use them as my superpower, rather than try to hide behind [an unrecognizable] mask. sam claflin photographed by dean isidro for flaunt magazine, 2025

BILLY: She said, “If you think I’m gonna let you screw up our life, you’ve lost your mind.” And she walked out the door.
I wake up, sick to my stomach, terrible headache. Karen is standing over me with a piece of paper. It was in Camila’s handwriting. It said, You have until November 30 and then you’re going to be a good man for the rest of your life. You get it? The baby was due December 1.
CAMILA: It didn’t seem right to me that his weakest self got to decide how my life was going to turn out, what my family was going to look like.
I got to decide that. And what I wanted was a life - a family, a beautiful marriage, a home - with him. With the man I knew he truly was. And I was going to get it, hell or high water.
