If you had to choose between having a Sam/Danny endgame or a Jackie/Eric one, which would you choose? And you can’t say both.

this is very VERY easy for me — Jackie/Eric 😅

not only are they just one of my favorite ships ever (they’re #2 behind only one other ship…) but them being endgame would’ve been a WAY better finale and ending then what season 8 gave us lmaoo

Sam/Danny is like fully getting the death trope at this point because i fear our boy is a goner in any potential scream 7 but i’ve accepted that 😂

hi anon! sorry this took me so long to answer but i love this question and wanted to have the time to properly sit down & answer it for you! enjoy! <3

1.) Gale x Dewey

my ultimate scream OTP and by far my favorite ship in the franchise. no one will ever top them for me. i love the fact that, despite their differences, dewey and gale care for each other so deeply.

they also always manage to see each others best qualities when no one else can, as clearly shown in both scream 2 and scream 3. they’re soulmates!

one element i really don’t love of their dynamic is how often they purposefully hurt each other to “win” above one another, and also how they could never seem to make each other happy for long.

2.) Mindy x Anika

gahhh, so much to say about these two! i think my favorite thing was just their effortless chemistry, and their amazing banter / dialogue in character.

least favorite thing? hmmm, i think it’s probably the fact they didn’t get enough screen-time lol. or that mindy actually suspected anika of being GF!

3.) Sam x Danny

my loves, my darlings, my muses. i love the fact that you can see HOW comfortable sam feels around him despite everything, and how danny is so wholly understanding of her circumstances & the choice she makes to pull away in scream 6.

i honestly would’ve loved some more angst from them at the end of 6, and tbh i do think there is something to be said for maybe how sam/danny might not last long term even if i totally love them.

4.) Chad x Tara

not my favorites, but still cute! i really loved their scene in the apartment where they almost kiss, it was a definitely super sweet and soft moment.

i really don’t like how rushed their dynamic felt. i’m totally understanding of the fact they didn’t have a lot of time to work on their romantic build up, but something about it fell really flat for me.

Also…The Great War is such a Sam/Danny song! I could write an essay on why so many individual lyrics and the overall theme and feel fit them so perfectly, but I’ll spare you the tedium of reading that :)

the great war fits SO many scream couples, tbh. but i majorly agree i think it fits sam/danny the best considering her own issues & fears of being betrayed after her relationship with richie in 5.

and, tbh, i would absolutely LOVE that essay! there’s a major lack of sam/danny analysis or love in the fandom and i’m always down to hear your thoughts on them — you’re super insightful 💞
