I know I yap about wanting Hotch to come back a lot, but the truth is, I don't actually want him to. Not in a permanent way, anyway. He deserves to have this time with Jack, and Jack deserves to have a (physically) present father, especially after everything he's been through.
Am I pissed that he just got ripped away from us? Or that the Mr Scratch arc got cut short? Or that the last time we see Hotch and Jack interact, he is visibly pissed at his father and we never see that resolved? Of course! But it's been too long now, and there's just no good reason for him to come back. (I would still love a cameo though, I can't lie.)
