3 year old niece, upon being told she could not have cake until she'd eaten dinner - no sugar until you've eaten food. *Flings self on ground, wailing* "I don't want food! I want SUGAR!!!"
She did eventually eat two grapes, half an apple cider muffin, and a cheese stick. Which was not the fresh-from-the-garden vegetable casserole grandma made, or the homemade low-sugar pumpkin pie, or the from-scratch not-hamburger-helper from Aunt FBF, but was still better than the desired nothing but cake for lunch.
