hi
i dont know if you answer asks or not but oh well
i’m a baby trans, do you have any advice on dysphoria affecting your mental health? for me it takes a serious chunk out of it, like i can’t get out of bed for two days bad and i don’t want to have to deal with that anymore. even just like small tips?
thank you :)
sorry for responding so late my friend! the best advice i can give you is to find ways to alleviate dysphoria (which can be obvious). But I really mean to lean into the things that may you happy. When I was a baby trans, I really loved experimenting with fashion and different hobbies, like making jewelry or playing instruments. You want things to do that are 1. related to alleviating dysphoria (clothing, makeup, fashion, "gendered" hobbies) and 2. things that are NOT related to your dysphoria (painting, cooking, learning a new language). I point this out because while you want to find ways to help your dysphoria and mental health, you don't want to do the Baby Trans thing and laser-focus on your dysphoria all of the time. Even efforts to alleviate it can affect your mental health negatively. You are more than your dysphoria and your trans identity. You're also a human with a body and mind that is capable of many things. You just simply need to start acknowledging that and developing a relationship to yourself that is not all dedicated toward alleviating dysphoria (i know, easier said than done), but trust me it will really help.
I hope that was helpful ^-^ folks are free to share advice as well!
