Who or What inspired your first interests in photography and to start posting on Instagram? How old were you when you first took up the interest?

I've loved taking photos since I can remember and have always found it where I am most calm. I started using Instagram on a daily basis at the beginning of 2014 and was mainly influenced in my early days from the adventures I'd get up to in Bali whilst shooting content for Active Escape fitness retreats. I had just left school and was 17 at the time!

Who are some of your favorite Instagrammers?

Every single person I follow on Instagram inspires me on a daily basis, but if I had to pick out a few that keep me constantly stoked are: - @scottborrero - @samearp - @thejoshshaw - @montanamartz (this chick deadset crushes the game!!!) - @robstrok - @sam_kolder - @mrbenbrown - @gabscanu - @doyoutravel

How has becoming such an influential figure on this platform changed your life? Do you ever feel pressured in any way?

Having a group of people who I can send my work out to is such a tool in itself for being able to slowly master my craft. The beauty of the platform is when you post something, you hear something straight back. I find I learn and grow my skills the quickest when I am able to film something in the morning, edit straight afterwards over a coffee, post in the afternoon and then have instant feedback on what people like and what I can improve on in the evening. I've definitely found as I've grown my Instagram that I've felt pressure and expectations, however, I can never determine whether those feelings are imposed by myself or my audience. A bit of both perhaps!

Your feed is filled with a combination of breath-taking landscape and urban shots. Which do you prefer to shoot and why? 

I definitely prefer the landscape side of things. I grew up by the ocean and have always been outside and playing in the elements. That alone has shaped the person I am today.

What camera do you use and what is your favorite lens to use?

I shoot my stills and video on a Canon 5D mkIII and GoPro Hero 4: Black. My go to lens would have to be the Canon 16-35mm f/2.8. It's so versatile for everyday shooting and I personally love playing with the lines and composition of wide shots!

What editing tools do you use and how much effort would you say you put into editing?

I edit video on Adobe Premiere Pro CC and photos in Lightroom I like to edit my photos very clean and vibrant which doesn't take much effort, however, my attention to detail when editing video often leaves me playing with clips for hours!

What are your favorite conditions to shoot in?

No shoes. No shirt. Sand in-between my toes. Clear sunny skies. Bluetooth speaker pumping good vibes.

What is your Favorite photo you have ever taken and why?

It would most definitely have to be from when I went to see Es Vedra when I was in Ibiza. It is the 3rd most magnetically charged point on the planet and from the moment I set foot there I felt this immense sense of peace and ease whilst gazing at this landform that steeply erupts from the surface of the calm ocean. I was also with two of my favourite humans Chris and Rochelle, it was a really awesome point in my life thus far.

What is on the top of your bucket list?

To see every country in the world.

Where is your favorite location to shoot?

Would have to be my hometown, Sydney.

What advice would you give to someone who is just starting out their Instagram account and wanting to gain exposure?

It all starts with good content. Creating your own feed style/layout is key, originality is always reckoned with. Whether that be a constant filter or colour scheme across photos, a dope layout of your feed and caption's or a style of music that you edit videos to. Once your content is solid and consistent, it then makes it 10x easier to reach out to other creatives and organise collabs.
