oh GOD why are you getting me started on this?? this is a BAD IDEA but here we go.

I’m relatively early on actually, just finishing up season four. Actually, I’ve watched all of season four except for the two-part finale, which I’ve heard is brutal, so I guess I’ve been avoiding it a bit. Also, I was watching a episode every other day or so until finals hit and then I was in finals hell and then I got distracted by other projects so I got away from the show somewhat. But I know that I’ll be back, I really really want to get back into it and I will after the new year.

my favorite is SPENCER REID. He is my hero and my idol and my boyfriend and he is me, if I were like 12 times smarter and 6 times more tortured. But yeah Reid is v important to me for reasons including but not limited to:

his intellect

his hair

the way that he looks for the best in everyone

the way he looks so pretty when he’s in pain

his magic tricks

his mom

So basically Reid is my everything, but my other fave is Garcia. She is precious and I’m afraid of her, which is the best combo. Prentiss is growing on me, and I love Hotch too.

ugh yeah so basically I am really excited to get back into it, but the next episodes are a two-parter and I keep only having time to watch at like 1 in the morning, but I’ll watch more before my vacation is over for sure!

Sick!Sam Fic Rec Masterpost

(This is for samiferal, who requested it a terrifyingly long time ago. I gotta tell you that I’m tempted to leave this until tomorrow so I can make stupid puns about this being years late but luckily I have a little more self-control than that. But I am truly sorry that this took so long!)

So let’s get to all of the sick!Sam goodness in the world, shall we? These aren’t in any particular order, except for the first…

Sammyverse - this is THE BEST SICK!SAM FIC in the world, and it’s actually a ‘verse that is thousands and thousands of words long. Featuring Sam with asthma and lots of allergies, check out my sammyverse tag for more info. Basically, if you like sick, adorable, badass Sam; awesome brotherly love; and really really good writing, then this is the 'verse for you.

Heartverse - this is kind of the coda verse to Sammyverse, although it is thousands of words in its own right. This is set post-hell (for Sam) so in addition to asthma and allergies, Sam has lots of mental health problems that he is working with. This 'verse introduces absolutely lovable OCs too.

A Change of Plans by Alex L. Kerr - did you ever want to read about young Sam with epilepsy? Well folks, you’ve come to the right place! I have a soft spot for this fic cause it’s one of the first authors I ever read in this fandom, but it’s seriously good fic with awesome older-brother!Dean. And actual info about epilepsy, which is pretty cool.

When You Put Your Arms Around Me - Sam is sick after a hunt involving a witch, and Dean can’t figure out why. Until he can, and everything goes from bad to worse. Set in the early seasons.

It’s not a fic, but the ohsam community on livejournal is always worth checking out. I don’t have specific recs here, but a quick glance at the tags shows that you can looks for things like fever, food poisoning, allergies, chronic illness, hospitalization, pneumonia, respiratory illness/distress, and more

Then I know of a couple of awesome 'verses that are more focused on mental illness…

Remove All the Pieces 'verse - this verse spans years and years of Sam’s life, and later fics focus on more minor characters (Kevin and Meg come to mind). Sam has plenty of issues, including struggles with eating disorders and plenty of hallucinations (thanks, Lucifer). Wincest, but also other pairings including the bros.

Fusion 'verse - this is where I go for allllll of my post-hell hurt/comfort needs. Sam is dealing with serious mental illness (hallucinations, anxiety) after escaping from the cage, and Dean is permanently injured physically. Together they make it work, along with a cast of great OCs and, occasionally, Castiel. This is also some of the first Spn fic I read <3

And, finally, these are a couple of fics that I haven’t read, but they’re recced by Alex L. Kerr, who is a bit of an expert on sick!Sam. They’re also shorter, which is a relief.

Oh my god I feel that post so much. I qualified for Mensa but decided not to join because it felt pointless and elitist to me Idk. Saying that every POC achievement should be celebrated and written about is kind of racist in itself because it implies that such achievements are incredibly unique and special??

Exactly! I only when to the supervised test because my parents basically dragged me. Mensa is so elitist. I got the monthly magazine for a while and all the articles were just "our super special group of smart people met up to play chess and showed off how super special and smart they are".

And yeah being like "omg black person did a thing" is patronising as hell. It's basically saying that the expectation is that we don't expect black people to achieve anything, so if they do it's like omg amazing...
