This past month has been hard on the people in Port Leiry that Everett cares the most about. From Jac having fled Port Leiry along with the rest of the Feng clan to @enchaentingly showing up heartbroken on his front door and especially @sammykeels with the sudden and brutal loss of his Father, it almost doesn’t seem like the time to party. Everett arrives beside his best friend, who must attend the event for Brotherhood reasons, intent on being moral support and providing up beat distractions when he can, Sammy deserves a night where he doesn’t have to think about all the pain of the last few months.

Where: The Keel’s Family Home

Sitting in his living room surrounded by bolts of fabric was not helping him make a decision about what he should wear for this damn event. He loved this one flowery butterfly soft fabric but the rest…..

It just wasn’t coming to him.

So he packed up his sewing kit and multiple reams of fabric and took off to someplace that had someone else who could not only help him make decisions (he had always been far better at that) but who he could also make a procrastination suit for.

When he pulled up in Sammy’s driveway, he could already feel the creativity returning to him.

So, with arms full of fabric, he rang the door bell, and one of his favourite faces greater the door, Everett let the smile crack across his face. “Your Fairy God Everett has officially arrived!”

And he pushed through the door….

Everett has never looked more forward to a party.

When: near the end of Part 1

It was almost midnight when Everett finally spotted the mix of green wool, satin, and silk that was his friend. Sammy looked a little the worse for wear, but Everett was sure he didn’t look much better.

He was dusted with glitter and champagne and sweat and ….was that blood? Everett wasn’t going to think about that though not as he pulled out a chair beside Sammy.

The dining tables had mostly emptied in favour of the entertainment and dance floor, so spotting Sammy at an empty table, face rested on his knuckle, had been much easier than Everett had assumed.

He sat and instead of starting the conversation where Sammy had to lift his head to meet Everett’s gaze, Everett instead lowered his face to meet Sammy’s.

“Hey Bud, I’m sorry we got lost.” Everett had lowered his voice, it was weird after coming from such a packed space to finally be in a corner of the Gala that had airflow, it felt almost as if Everett raised his voice too much, he’d break whatever enchantment was finally allowing cool air to circulate.

Sammy looked into Everett’s eyes, they were slightly glazed with what Everett assumed was reemergence after a period of not drinking following a period of constant drinking. Everett was a little surprised, Sammy rarely got drunk if ever. But when a smile also started to spread on Sammy’s lips, Everett let his reexpand. “You ok? Did you have fun or do you need water?”

When: Sammy’s Birthday

Everett hesitated before knocking on the door.

It was probably too much…but, Everett had seen the posts Sammy had been saving on Instagram. Listened to Sammy talk about the bikes he had seen in the different shows they watched together. And it was Sammy’s Birthday…If there was ever a time for an extravagant gift, it was his Best friend’s birthday.

The engine of the newly delivered motorcycle was cooling behind him as he heard the familiar sound of footsteps thunder down the stairs. He really hoped Sam didn't think it was too much, but instead saw it as a good tool he could use as he furthered his hunting career...or his medical career...or really anything else.

So as the door swung open, Everett, with a giant smile on his face, “Happy Birthday Dude!”

Where: Port Eerie

Everett wouldn’t say he was worried about Sammy but….Sammy is obviously far more capable and better at coping at he is but…. He understands Sammy must be there for Brotherhood Business and while he doesn’t feel entirely up to partying, Sammy is very good at his job but….. Everett knows he’s only there as a light hearted distraction and not to watch over Sammy

But . . .

It feels wrong as an old classmate of theirs pulls Everett towards the apple bobbing barrel. Sam had pushed him to do it, hollow words of “I’ll be right here have fun” and that’s the only reason Everett let’s himself be pulled away, turns away from his friend.

Everett can’t remembered the last time he went apple bombing, it would ruin his clothes and that though alone has him tugging the silk scarf off from around his neck and handing it to Sammy to tuck in his back pocket. Two things safely away from whatever super natural dunk of costume germy distraction ruiner this will be.

Everett feels the classmate lace his fingers in his hair as he is dunked below the surface. He wants this to be over as he uses a combo of his tongue, chin, and teeth to trap an apple beneath the surface so he can come up with it as quickly as he can.

When he comes up and his hand is raised, apparently having caught the biggest fruit in the barrel, Everett registers discomfort, as water and spit drench the front of his designer blue button up that he can already feel has popped a button and a vial of something is smacked into his hand. A problem for later he guesses.

Everett disentangles himself from the crowd as quickly as he can looking over heads to see if he can still spot his friend….
