What’s the secret your character is the most embarrassed about?

Now that’s gonna be hard to find, because she was raised in a family that taught her that there was no reason to feel embarrassed about what she liked or looked like or who she was. So she’s not embarrassed that often, and when she is it’s usually in public, so it’s hardly a secret since many people were here to see it. So I can’t really think of something she would be embarrassed about to the point of making it a secret.

Does your character have any allergies or sensibilities? How does it affect their life?

I don’t think she has any allergies, apart maybe from a sensitivity to pollens that is so light that it doesn’t even require any treatment, and just makes her sneeze a lot during Spring and Summer. Digesting dairy products can be a pain too. Ah, and she’s also allergic to assholes.

When your character goes shopping, which stores do they frequent?

Will depend on what she’s shopping for. If it’s common groceries, like food and everyday products, she’ll go to the nearest supermarket, though she has a preference for Carrefour and Leclerc (Carrefour is cool because they have lots of smaller shops in towns, so it’s practical when you don’t have butter anymore). When it comes to stuff like furniture or clothes though, she doesn’t really have a favourite. The most likely scenario is that she’ll tell Louise what she’s looking for and go shopping with them because they really are the best for that. And, of course, she goes to Lawy’s for books because all of our characters do.

Does your character have any phobias? What are they and how intense are they? How have they impacted their life?

She has a strong fear of abandonment. It probably comes from her being adopted, but for a while she was always afraid that people would stop loving her and go away. It died down with time, mostly because ebing a part of the Zelenka pack helps dealing with that kind of fear. That’s part of what made her so fiercely loyal to her sister: she wanted to make sur that she would never, ever feel that way.

A stranger makes a crude comment to your character. How do they react?

She wrecks them. Lyuben and Louise prob had her taking slf-defense classes just in cas, but that won’t be necessary if it’s “only” a comment. However, she took some high sass skills from Luben, so she doen’t even need to touch them to remind them that she’s a person and not a sack of meat. If she’s in a hurry or doesn’t consider them worthy of her time, giving them the finger without even looking at them will be sufficient. they don’t deserve any more attention, to be honest.

Someone asks your character to describe their family. How do they answer?

First she will ask if you’re strictly speaking of the nuclear family, parents-children and that’s it, or the extended one. When you’re part of the Zelenka pack and your grandmother tends to symbolically adopt stray kids, that’s relevant. If it’s her close family you want, she’ll talk about her parents, how much they love each other and how much they love their kids. you’ll be able to hear the tenderness in her voice, even though she might not say out loud how much she loves them. She’ll talk about her sister too, who she thought to be her brother for years, and will protect no matter what. No dot touch her sibling. Don’t ask about her blood family either, they don’t exist to her anymore anyway.

If you ask about her extensive family, it’ll take longer. She’ll introduce you to Peter and Tsveta, Mathis, Misha, Liezel, Ditfried, the twins... All those people whom she’s known for her whole life and who took care of her, and whom she loves dearly. They are her family, no matter what blood or laws say.

Does your character have any artistic talents, such as writing, painting, playing an instrument, or singing? Are they well developed or raw and untrained? Secret or public?

She plays the violin. Lyuben always encouraged her not to give it up, even though the first two or three years were hellish, and she’s grateful he did, because when she started getting good it became a passion. And she’s indeed very good, she trained hard for years and kept practicing her whole life. I think she even became a professional musician, like her father. Even if she didn’t, though, her talent is no secret. She’s probably played at least in an amateur orchestra, and maybe even recorded a duet album with Lyuben. I think that music is very important to her; it’s kind of a family thing on the Zelenka side.
