When they make it out beyond the main gate and a breath's distance from escape, Henry attempts to adjust his grip on the entire situation. To somehow tackle and compartmentalise that this inane plan to get to safety has worked thus far, but… In his own unfettered weakness, Henry thinks of Martin. To scoop Sam up, to carry him like a child…the sickest part of Henry's brain considers a tainted thought: I am doing something for him that Pa never got to.
