“Darling, I know you and your brother aren’t on good terms right now, you know I understand that, but.. He won’t let me turn off desperate housewives, it’s been on constantly for the last forty eight hours.”
Her mother’s voicemail hadn’t been a surprise. She had been on the phone to Beth the second Sam had shown up at the Dryden family home, but so far, Beth had found enough excuses to stay away. She hadn’t seen Samuel since their relationship had imploded that night, a night that seemed to long ago now and even though she missed him, she couldn’t shake the feeling of betrayal she felt.
But her mother was right, this was bigger than that. She hadn’t wanted to be alone or without him during her heartbreak and she sensed he felt the same.
With Ellie on a playdate with Easton and getting in some quality Auntie Greer time, Beth finally had the time to do what she should’ve done days ago. Arms laden with enough junk food and tequila to feed and inebriate a small country, Beth walked into her childhood home. “The cavalry has arrived, where is he?” Nodding at her father, Beth shook her head as he tried to speak to her, only greeting Grace with a kiss on the cheek before turning and walking into the family room.
“Alright sad act, I will watch Eva Longoria with you for the grand total of fifteen minutes and then we’re changing the channel.” Sitting herself on the couch, Beth placed the bags of food and drink between them before reaching for a packet of caramel m&ms. “You’re freaking mom out with the endless reruns.” @samuel-dryden
