Ash
Simultaneously the most and the least understanding of the three.
Didn't have a childhood. Understands the concept and knows about the developmental milestones, though. Didn't you successfully surpass every one of them?
But then you explain that it's more than physical milestones- it's the nagging feeling in the back of your mind. That feeling that you missed out on something and are still not able to obtain it. A loop you never got to close. He spends a long time reflecting on his own experiences and suddenly, he's much more sympathetic.
Gains a new appreciation for the way your mind works and starts to learn from you. Perhaps he can discover a few hobbies of his own?
Won't acknowledge that conversation again, but he might lean forward to observe you when you're playing with a fidget or make a mental note of objects you're interested in.
Gifts you with things that fit your aesthetic and serve a purpose. Big supporter of fidgets. Items will appear on your desk or at your spot in the dining room. If you ask about it, he'll explain that he procured it for its usefulness, but the way that his hands are restlessly twitching at his sides betrays the real sentiment behind the gesture.
Please get him something or share your fidgets. Watch him analyze them and slowly start to mess with them, movements practiced and careful. Once he realizes he can't break them, you'll start seeing him fidgeting with one hand and working with the other.
Samuels
If you're a person who likes trinkets or stuffies, this is your man.
Openly curious when he first spies your collection of animals, stickers, rocks, books, etc.. Fascinated by the vibrant colors and varying textures of each item.
As a synthetic, he's not technically supposed to have or want such things. He finds joy in your collection- they're a reminder of the places you've been and the full life you've lived. Each item has a memory attached to it, and he'd love it if you took the time to tell him where each one came from. Who gave it to you? Where did you find it? What does it remind you of? Why did you choose this item in particular?
Please let him pick them up and inspect them. He'll turn each thing over very carefully and run his fingers over the surface. If it's a stuffed animal, he's pulling up a 3D model of the real thing and comparing the stuffie to it to see if it's anatomically accurate. If it's a rock, he's parsing through his catalogue of mineral knowledge and murmuring the name of it while he holds it up to the light.
If you have a favorite item that you like to carry around or bring on long trips, you never have to worry about losing it- he always knows where it is. Sometimes knows when you need something before you voice it. You'll start to get bored or feel a twinge of sadness, and suddenly, that comfort item materializes in your lap.
Type of person who would love the concept of a Build A Bear. He's helping you create something and he gets to make a contribution of his own to the finished product? He's ecstatic. If you ever make something for him, he'll treasure it forever. Would set his trinkets next to yours so they aren't "lonely" during the day.
V
Will definitely ask you about why you engage in such activities. If you explain that you didn't have the opportunity to engage in them as a child, he's very sympathetic. He had a childhood, of course, but he doesn't remember much of it. If there's anyone in the world who understands a need to take back what was stolen from you, it's him.
His love of the arts knows no bounds, and he's very happy with however you decide to express yourself. While his preferred outlet for strong feelings is bloody vengeance, he appreciates your hobbies. You add more beauty to the world with each of your creations, and he gleans some happiness from seeing you so comfortable in your own skin as you take back what was stolen from you.
Makes a point of stealing high-quality crayons and colored pencils for you. What's the point of coloring if you don't have the best supplies? What if you need an oddly specific color and find that you don't have it? He won't stand for it.
You will have the gigantic box of crayola crayons. Not the 8 count, not the 24 count. You are now the proud owner of a brand-new 288 count tub that includes 8 discontinued colors and multiple metallics.
Does extensive research on the best brands of colored pencils, watercolors, oil pastels, etc. before he considers getting anything for you. Debates all of his options very carefully. Greatly enjoys the look of glee on your face when he presents you with a sketchbook that he chose specifically for you.
Whether or not you keep the art that you make, V comments on it. You might as well be showing him a Rembrandt- he's praising the composition and asking about the thought process behind your color choices.
