Hot Guy Friday: Cindy from Bakumatsu Rock
Ouno - Bakumatsu Rock!
I found some old cosplays in the closet and realized I have hardly any decent photos of any of them, so I set up a photobooth in the living room while boyfriend was out ヽ(゜∇゜)ノ Ouno was a minor character but her design was one of my favourites in the whole franchise, and I loved freehanding the pattern on her kimono.
Underrated Sunday: Bakumatsu Rock
This anime is based on a video game, so I’d definitely recommend this if you’ve played the game at all.
Basically, it’s set during the time of the Meiji Restoration (late 1800s), when Western countries started coming to Japan frequently, and their whole culture was uprooted because of that. During that time, there was a very famous ban on swords. The premise of this anime is that instead of a sword ban, there was a ban on rock music during the Meiji era.
I will be the very first to admit that it is absolutely fuckin ridiculous as far as a plot premise. And maybe it’s just because I loved the music, but damn, they made this work for me! It gets pretty outrageous pretty fast, so I feel like JoJo’s fans would like this. The characters go through some pretty good development, and overall are fairly relatable. The CGI, when they use it, does suck though. Not gonna lie. But it still is a thoroughly enjoyable anime!
